I've never heard that before for truck tires. Seems like 18's are a little more. I know I payed more for tires for 19" wheels on my last car than I would have if I had 18 or 20" wheels, so it would make sense because 19's are less common. It was either the toyo or nitto that I priced at work that would have been about 850, so I think I did good only paying 630 after tax for mine. But also, if you got a 265/70/17, the 18" size is 1 inch taller, but I'm not really sure how much of a difference that actually makes in price.

I was in the same position as you. I kept reading that the Michelin Defenders were the best On-road tire... I swapped them for the K02 and am much happier. Noise levels were the same, but the K02 felt much more substantial. On road grip was the same too (both very good)

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
Toyo MT. Love them. Work well, clean out pretty good, they ride pretty decent too. Plus I love how they look. And they last forever on a lightweight truck. Got 28k miles on these.

I got mine for $608 after tax and was able to pick them up next day from Wal-Mart of all places. Had someone else put them on of course. But really happy with tires so far. Brother has a second gen and "16 tires for his no matter What way he goes, unless completely off brand, are about $60+ more a tire. Crazy how it works

Not worth spending $ for "looks" and compromising your on road performance imo. They are good AT tires.

Other than the fact they suck. My Cooper mud tires ride 10x better.

I liked the stock GY's but I removed them and sold them right away. Offroading with P metric tires is sketchy for me out here. I only do it with my winter set.

Only people who say they are good, consider gravel roads "off-road".

Cooper AT3's, they are a really good tire for what your needs are. I've run those in the past.
