"Smash Runner " start up page

Made some progress this week , got my spindles off , wheel bearing ordered while their apart , optima yellow top ordered , few misc bits from icon ordered , and took my spindles to work and got the gussets welded on. Hoping tomorrow to get the front end back together for the most part save for the bearing that aren't here yet. Have new calipers , pads rotors to go on, coilovers, spindles, rebuild cvs, and weld on tc cam tabs and coil bucket gussets. Trying my best to get it together by next weekend to go wheeling with my buddies so will probably hold off on the cv rebuild and welding parts for now to get to go next weekend .

 

Got coilovers on , spindles on , just waiting for bearings to come in and I can button up the front, get an alignment, new battery installed, and hopefully make Potts this weekend.

 

FYI I didn't know spc uppers won't work with the tc spindle gussets the bj isn't long enough to to go all the way through with enough thread to get the nut on. Soooooo ... Tc uppers were bought. Got those on everything back together for now. Need to adjust coilovers front sitting pretty low, weld tc cam tabs on lower bjs are torn, scored some super low mileage used oem ones from a fifth gen runner , rebuild CV axles and get an alignment hope to get that done this weekend. Took it to a buddies and cycled susp no rubbing finally. Getting stoked to go wheeling. Juan bigger tiarz now ...

 

Got my tc alignment tabs welded on this weekend, rebuilt cv axles with oem kits, and replaced lowers with ones from a fifth gen runner about 10k miles on them. Found out the lowers got beefed up on the fifth gens so there's that. Alignment this week hopefully.

 

These were oem used from someone local got good deal 70$ with lower bjs and bushings. I replaced my oems two years ago roughly with some I got for about as much as you're talking but they were junk the ball joint and bushings were both bad already and I've put less than 10k miles on them.

 

If you can I'd say find oem and rebuild them or rebuild your old ones not worth the headache to replace again in that short of time in my opinion or maybe go with higher quality aftermarket moog maybe. But I see used lowers on here often. Never could confirm if the taco ones for fourth gens don't see why not but someone said they wouldn't once not sure how reputable that is though.

 

Gotcha I can't remember what I bought but it wasn't worth it bjs were def done and bushings I'm pretty sure were going as well.

 

Scored some 34s the other day be getting them on soon and hopefully running rausch creek end of October.

 

Man I love your t4r. One of my favorites. I can't decide between a taco or a t4r any advice the 4runner

 

Plenty , they're cheaper by almost half in some cases fourth gen runner compared to second gen taco. V8 option limited and sports come with way more interior options than taco. Rear disc brakes , more interior space, frame is boxed ", can long travel the rear for about 700$. Not very common compared to the tacos get to be a little more unique. And did I say v8?? The motor is glorious I love it
