That's basically what I wanted to here, I'm going to end up going with that one I think. As I transition into doing a lot more over landing I'm going to need an unlimited supply of air for the tires instead of just the SCBA tank for air tools

Went out after replacing CV axle to test drive and measure my flex.

And broke the brand new CV

    What haven’t I changed?
The CKMA is an awesome compressor and is plenty fast for airing up tires. So much so that when I went wheeling with some of my buddies I would finish airing up before them and they would use mine to finish up anyway (they were using small plug-in ones running off of the inverter). So now I have the big one.

Slee Offroad does make a mounting bracket for the big one, but the installation is a pain in the ass because you have the headlight, washer fluid reservoir, and stock intake all in that area. Getting to the bottom filter for cleaning basically requires removing the passenger headlight, and you will need to buy the manifold kit to run a locker with a twin. The twin also can't run larger air tools without an auxiliary air tank, so there's another extra cost to consider.

What! is your coilovers set to high? (To much pre load.) On my fox coilovers they came set way to high. My cv's were stressed out. I adjusted them to about a two inch lift and my cv axel's straighten out. Sorry man that really sucks.

My COs are barely preloaded . I have #700 springs. Left passenger side alone and just added preload to driver to even it out. Original CV on driver side is still good.

Yeah, that sucks. That's probably the reason though? That's why I don't have a spare. I need to suck it up and buy another rebuilt from CVJ

You could mount a tank there, but it would be a bad place to mount the compressor. It's pretty small. Should be able to stuff it in the engine compartment somewhere. Then the wire harness wouldn't need to be lengthened either.

    Stay away from cheap cv's

    Even cvj doesn't impress me.

I'm gonna buy a couple rebuilt from from CVJ Tim, Maybe we can order at same to time to save a couple bucks shipping. I'm thinking of getting three. Install two and return the current ones as core. Keep the third as spare.

I've heard from some on here that the CVJ OEM rebuilt is good stuff. Did you have any bad experience with them?

I got mine used from a salvage yard, 50 a piece. Let me know tomorrow if you want them and I'm sure I can get you the same deal. Used OEM is better than brand new aftermarket junk IMO

Because CVJ requires an OEM CV Toyota as core. They don't accept aftermarket. The CV that they will send me is Toyota OEM that they remanufacture.

    I want them. Please.

Matt - Can you find me a OEM driveshaft if possible. I've been looking at car-parts.com/nearby salvage but can seem to catch a break and find the CV's and Driveshaft.

    Thanks,

    Lloyd

If you do mount the compressor low, be sure to run a line to keep the intake above water. You could probably use tubing and fittings, I think the 12 used 1/8 pipe threads on the intake filter. There once was an on-board air thread but I think the OP suffered a 3rd Gen inflicted ban

I need to start stocking up on spare parts... stop buying all this shit and actually buy important things lol. I think craigs shower tube will be the last thing I purchase until I get order a compressor/dual battery setup and just a fridge before Moab...

Gotta do dd mod and pay off CC mod before Moab I think lol
