Last year I asked about putting an intermittent wiper assembly in my 2015 taco with the convienent package. I got it and it worked perfectly. Now I would like to install a back up camera. I was given a Toyota dealer in I think California that checked my vin for the intermittent wiper and he told me it was wired for the wiper switch. Can anyone give me his name or any place where I can give my vin to find out if my tacoma is wired for the back up camera. My local dealer won't help.

Maybe just call another dealer ask for the parts department tell them you want to buy a camera for your truck from them. Then give them your vin.

    Also check this out, it's for a 2014 but I'd assume it's the same for a 2015.

My 2015 Tacoma base Access Cab was pre-wired all the the way to the tailgate. I skipped the dealer and bought just the camera module off of eBay. The module was less than a $150 and purchased from a Chinese seller by the name of Longriauto.

When in reverse gear - the basic Entune unit showed the image from rear camera immediately after I installed it.

By the way - I just did a quick lookup on eBay. The least expensive module listed as -

    - "2014-2015 Toyota Tacoma Backup Camera for Factory Display Radios Plug and Play" -

    was just $105.00.

    - Happy Trails from Austin, TX -

You are pre wired. Only version that wasn't was the regular cab.

+1 on Longriauto. Mine was $115 shipped to my door and it works perfectly.

Just installed a backup camera from ebay $113.00 http://www.ebay.com/usr/automama8?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
it took about 2 weeks to get and less then 8 minutes to install (the hardest thing was disconnecting the wire/plug from the dummy connection). At first it didn't work, so I pushed down on the connection and so be it, it wasn't connected all the way(noob). The camera's image quality is very good, will update with some pix day and night.

My 2015 Tacoma was pre wired for the camera, had the wires and the sticker by the tail gate, got the camera on eBay for just under $36.00 shipped from CA. Had to buy a T30 wrench for the screws. As hpjune said the hardest things was disconnecting the clip from the dummy bracket. Checked it and it worked great. While I had the tailgate plate off I cleaned and waxed everything down, don't know when I will have to go in there again
