I wonder if you could call arb and ask them about the valving on the Jeep ones. You would definitely have to get thru to the right rep. Like the designer in Australia lol.

I actually happen to have a 2010 JKU along with the Taco... Might have to try this

That's a negative... JKU comes in at 4,397 lbs based on published literature, that's only 28 pounds lighter than the published DCSB weight of a taco. I bet the valving will be really similar.

I'll crawl under both here in a couple days and take some measurements on how they attach. I expect the top of the shock on the Taco will be different than the JKU.

And yes @IronPeak4x4 , I realize "poorly designed" is probably exaggerated... But when these are made to be paired with their springs that provide lift (the dakar pack) and they don't accommodate the lift, I consider it a design oversight. They took the lazy way out and just went with stock length shocks. Shocks are not meant to be limit straps...

Looking at my shocks I appear to have equal uptravel and down, but yeah it is odd their shocks, both the nitro and these do not account for the downtravel possible with the dakar leafs they are paired with.

How about a pic of the top shock seat on the jk? That might give an idea if they fit. The pics of both the jk and the taco bp-51s look similar if not identical. If they fit I may get them, and sell my existing rears

So by your measurements the superbump flip kit available is not tall enough? Is that why you built a taller seat? Looks good BTW

Thanks for doing the legwork , about the shocks not bumps, it looks like your droop/compressed match the shock. How would the extended length shock benefit us? And would we lose an inch of up travel? Would they require a mount relocate?

Those numbers are with the BP51s installed. I was measuring for the bumps. My spring only droop is about 28"

So when u flex and extend with your current setup the shock tops out? Or do you have limited strap?

No limit straps, I just try not to slam my suspension down (get air).

Has anyone looked in to fabbing mounts to move the lower shock mount up by +/- 2" to compensate for the additional droop of the Dakar springs? Then installing the appropriate length bump stops?

I'm really liking what I'm reading about the BP-51 set up for adjustability without the cost of going to a full bypass shock. I had ADS triple bypasses on my Tundra paired with Deaver springs and they rode amazingly well but that rear set up was damn near $3000 by itself.

If I get the kit and then find myself wanting additional rear droop I'll try to accomplish it without changing the shocks out

I would imagine it's a pretty simple reworking of the bracket that arb provides. To basically take their L shape and make it more of a U so that the mount point moves out and up instead of just out. Over simplified i know but its just an idea
