Installed my 30 inch Black light bar today. I slid two bolts that are for the cargo tie downs into the slot holding the fairing on and put the spacers that came with the light bar on to those bolts. This allowed for a direct bolt on application and no modifications. The end result was a perfectly flush light bar. I ran the wire in one of the slots (see attachments) and down the windsheild. Works perfect! I do wish I bought a 40 inch though...

Looks great! Is that a Rough Country light bar? How do you like it?

For the money they are great! It is super bright. I could see my rigid is a little better, but would rather save money on more useful parts.

Good luck with that... Vendors don't waste their time on us 1st gens anymore. The money's in the 2nd and 3rd gen owners who just throw money away without a care

The problem with doing a first gen double cab is mainly time and truck availability at this point. The 100 series landcruiser is a huge market and I have a local guy who has offered his truck for prototyping on numerous occasions but even then I haven't been able to get it done and bring that one into the market.

The 1st gen double cab has fewer locals lining up to do test fitting because of the drilling.

1st gen lives matter! If you think there's a big market for 1st gen roof racks that isn't being addressed, then make some and sell them. Like you said, money is in the 2nd and 3rd gen's. Where we all have unlimited funds and just use our trucks to shuttle between our yachts and mansions. Just throwing all our money around with our ultra luxury tacomas.

Thanks to your post I did the same with mine since the top of my canopy isn't flat and angled a bit. I used 3 washers but looks like it should hold. Hope to run into you at a Portland TW meet one day...

I gotta say, Zach, I've gotten more compliments on my roof and top rac than anything else on my truck. Good job man

Searched through the thread for "extended cab" so sorry if this has been addressed. I have a 1st gen extended cab that I'm looking for a roof rack solution for the cab. Cabrac looks great however... the RTT overhangs my cab, anyone with an extended cab able to measure how far above the rack is above the roof at the rear?

The top of the rear-most crossbar just above the rear brake light is a hair under 2.5". At the rear corners, where the sideplates attach to the rear-most crossbar, the height is just a shade under 4". Judging from your photo, I'd say you easily have room to clear the cab roof rack -- the Prinsu rack hugs the roof very well.

Sweet thanks. I need to measure my clearance tonight but I think it'll fit as well. This looks so much nicer than my original plan of Yakima Q-towers + Q-stretch kit.

I see on the Accessrac for a 2nd gen there are issues with some wiring being routed near the drill locations. Did you guys on the 1st gen extended cab run into any similar issues?

I had no issues with wiring near the drill locations -- hardest part was just getting the plus-nuts to flare out.
