Hey Carl, if that bear took my kitties food, he'd be food. I've shot critters who did far less than stealing cat food. Damn, some of 'em didn't taste that great.

 

Morning all:
Aside from a nice rug , bear meat tastes pretty good if prepared properly.
There are enough outlaws in our area that it may not make it to hunting season , and there are more around here than the one that's being a PITB, maybe self defense would work!

OK, this is how my day went! Went up to a U-pull it junkyard to get a rim for my buddies truck, he needed me to remove the tire from it because of a bad back. Got home and another buddy had called who wasn't busy had time to touch up an area of the boat, there went the morning and part of the afternoon! Picked up the mail and the trailer registration and title were there , only problem is that they have the wrong brand of trailer on both . All the other information is correct but they have it as a Track Master trailer instead of a Trail Star trailer, that could cause problems down the road. Emailed the PFBC, and after spelling out all the info. the site says error occurred and wiped out a detailed email, GRRRRRRR!
Got to go, going to be entertaining for the next hour and a half, hope I don't !

Just got back from a state reps. office, amazing how fast "THEY" can get something done!
Bureau error on the boat trailer, in a hurry and missed a code that designates the trailer as a trail star and put down the first thing that came up, which was track master.
Should have another title and reg. coming that is correct----I HOPE!
At least they apparently got it figured out.

 

Well, I found a job! Took 6 weeks and a lot of "shots in the dark". New occupation is half the salary of the old one - but will do OK with that income and SS together. Old fashioned machine shop - manual lathes, horizontal mill and so on - its pushing me to do things I'd forgotten.......

I was out 14 months the last time. Some of it was self-induced; I had been working at least part time (+ school) since I was 12, and I thought it would be okay to give myself a break. It felt good, but then it turned into along dry spell which was no fun and put a big hit on the wallet. Looking back I don't think I'd change anything though.

Congrats on finding the job Steve, good thing about having a job and SS is that there is still some money coming in if things don't work out.
I have a buddy that's a machinist, he works in a small shop, is in his 50's, and is pretty well used up from doing heavy lifting. His boss was pretty demanding, but fair to him, I think he's there for 28+ yrs. and has recently been working 12 hr. days having to get "rush jobs" out, and if done on time the boss is throwing some pretty lucrative bonuses their way when the rush jobs get done on time.
Both the guy I went to help with the rim and this guy are good guys, both did heavy physical work all their lives and are now paying the price for it. One is on disability because of his back, and the other one is about one step away from it.

I am not looking forward to winter at all this year - enjoyed our pool and the hot weather too much!!

I wanted to put a new edge on the plow last weekend - flipped it over to find the weld on one side had broken so the blade separated - and the edge had worn down to where the bolt holes were all now half moons. New blade is supposed to be delivered today so this weekend I'll have to attach it to the frame. I guess 12 years isn't bad for the blade.

Where is everyone, must be on pension and no time to post!
Been working on fabricating a piece for the boat to mount a electric anchor winch on, can't believe the amount of time it takes to get something like that made up. Of course I had to change plan A a few times but finally got it, could be that I'm just slow but I finally got it the way I want it.
Now if I wanted to constantly pull the anchor up by hand I wouldn't have even needed it. I have one on the other boat and they are definitely a plus, especially with the remote switch.

 

Fab work is never fast. It's a first prototype every time. I spent 3 days working on a switch pod for a race car years ago. One piece of sheet metal.

 

Hey y'all. Finally put a lift kit on my 2012 4 door long bed. Went with toytec it rides better than factory. My wife kept saying your gonna ruin the truck. Now she likes it even more. Put BFG all terrains 275/70/17's. my son and son-in-law want first dibs on the truck in my will. I told them both to get off my lawn

 

Been reading some of these posts. A lot of you guys were in nam. Thank you for your service I missed it barely got out of high school in 75. Went straight to college.

I graduated in '73 so I didn't see Vietnam either until '1999 when I was there on a trip with my National War College class. I served on active duty from 1978 until 2004.

Welcome to the thread George. Thank you for your service as a LEO. That is one job I would not want. Pop a cold one out of the cooler and enjoy the chats. USN '67 to '71. Never made it to the west coast or Nam. A big SALUTE to all those that were over there. Enjoy.

The neighbor said a bear hit his garbage again last night, think I need to put some cat food back in the can when bear season comes around!
