I've noticed the last few times after driving in the rain that the door seals are allowing moisture up into the door frames farther than i feel like they should. anyone else experiencing this and should this be a concern?
    See pictures for reference...
    Concerning.

No rain here, and I don't wash my cars/trucks. Just do a QD, so can't comment on water getting in.

But yours is under warranty. Dealer trip?

dealer trip for sure, trying to see if anyone else experiencing or if its a known issue first. not sure what the dealership can do about it unless they plan to fab me a new cab and re-design the seal. Anyone else out there noticing these issues?

I think the actual door seals are around the door card not the door edge. So moisture behind the door is not unexpected.
If it's wet and dirty near the door latch then you have issues. Otherwise I'd not be concerned.

I've not noticed it on mine, but I honestly wouldn't pay attention to it if it was happening on mine. I will start to watch for it now that you have brought it up

I noticed it but didn't think of it as an issue. Never had issues with water getting inside so to me the seals are doing its job...

I've noticed this while washing cars back in high school on just about every make there is. Not just Toyota. Run the car/van/truck/suv through the tunnel, open the door at the end, water where you see. Nothing new to be honest.

    What???

Your interior is bone dry. Your exterior is wet.

That's a perfectly functioning seal doing what it was designed to do.

I wash my truck religiously and always find water in those areas after washing it. I just towel dry them out, and done.

yeah think that's pretty normal. dad always taught me to open the door to dry that area after washing a car (his Porsche). think most cars are like this...or atleast every car i've ever washed.

All the moisture I see is outside the seals. There is nothing to stop water entering through the door/body gap on any vehicle.

If this were an actual issue Smitty would have it on his truck. As I have not seen a complaint about this I am assuming it was a defect left off his truck by accident.

Yeah that is totally normal. All of the vehicles I have ever owned got water on the door jams like that. Aso long as there is no water getting into the cab of the truck you are good. Look at the rubber seals on the door itself, you will see where they are in comparison to where you see the water on the jams.

The entire time I'm typing this response my mind is blown that you are asking this question at all. Have you ever owned another vehicle?

I agree with all of the others on here; that's normal. Wash and wax it when you do the rest of the truck and you shouldn't have any abnormal rust issues.

Looks perfectly normal. Unless your interior is wet I wouldn't worry about it.

Same. I worked at a car wash and we were taught to dry off the door jams. It happens on every single car there is. The BMW Z4 has a particularly water and soap collecting trunk-door jam situation.

We get the same amount of water in the same areas after we wash or go through a heavy driving rain on our "triple sealed" audi. We've had it for 4.5 years now and there is no rust on the body.

^What he said. I've detailed some high end vehicles that do this. BMWs, Mercs, Range Rovers... It's nothing to be concerned about OP

Edit: And if you go to the dealer they're going to laugh at you
