Would have been even better if I came home with some fish haha naw it was great regardless of being skunked. It was sure nice putting the new gear to use and figuring out what to work on next. The scenery never disappoints just as long as it's clear enough to see it. When timing works out I'm sure we could get a group together to show you around.

    Thanks Juan

I said the same thing a few trips ago... never again. But, I do things backwards so I installed the compressor and an ifs skid for the weight vs wiring the compressor. More lbs over the front axle sure helped, airing down will be the cherry on top.

Thanks guys, appreciate the bday cheers.

Sorry about being MIA as of late but thankfully that's due to lots of build progress as well as some fun adventures. I have quite a bit of catchup work to do in this thread so expect some updates here soon.

    Build/Gear updates:

    Navigation:
The ten year old Kenwood DNX8120's finally bit the dust so it was time to upgrade. I've been out of the audiophile loop for awhile now so I had a bit to get caught up on. After researching a few evenings away I landed on great deal for a Pioneer AVIC-8000NEX. It's not their newest model but after digging through the differences there isn't anything too different other than a higher model number and preloaded firmware updates. The phone integration is pretty slick and is a huge improvement over my last unit.

    Trash or Treasure:
They say one mans trash is another mans treasure... well, I like treasures. But the question remains... what's taking that saying too far?

So I first stumbled across this metal frame while blazing through the woods...
    IMG_3995.jpg

a few feet later I found this... (looked much worse)
    IMG_3997 - Copy.jpg

Yep! this right here is one gnarly trail shitter! Who knows how long this throne has been neglected... we can only hope a very long time. I hate trash, so I put it in a bag with a stick and hauled it home.

Thoughts crossed my mind.... and it began.

The BAMF iteration is more snug offering better clearance but the pricepoint of the RCI fit the budget. Very sound product all around, stupidly simple install, and offers great protection.

Jumped on one of these booster packs while the group buy was going on, seems good so far, has retained a full charge for 4 months, and I just jumped a neighbors suv! Not bad for a cheapo unit, I'm impressed although teardown reviews by AVE make it out to be a piece of rubbish.

I've had alerts setup on Craigslist for Pelican gun cases and tend to get some odd ball items in my feed.
Didn't realize I'd be seeing a lot of kayaks. These went up for dirt cheap by a couple moving out of town. They are rather tame setups and perfect for some fishing and cruising the many lakes around us.

If you recall I had picked up an aluminum 6lb propane tank awhile back, with a trip around the corner I needed a quick and easy way to mount it.

After a bit of digging I liked the look and design of the powertank C02 holder, my tank is a tad smaller in diameter than the powertank so I'd need to modify it a pinch.

Mounts cinched as far as they go.
