Thanks! Besides the head-on, end of runway stuff, most all were taken from spectator accessible areas. No special access needed. Even though I love airplanes, I really enjoy capturing the essence of an event.

I call BS. I personally know of captains in the 121 world that were under 26. Perhaps, just maybe, she is the youngest female, but I am more inclined to think that CNN posts whatever they want and call it truth.

 

Yeah, i just wish it wasnt so expensive to get into commercial, i think wed have a lot more pilots out there if you didnt have to make big bucks to fly.

 

I didn't make big bucks, nor do I now (depending on your perspective of course). It's all about how bad you want it. Want anything bad enough and you'll do whatever it takes.

...^^^... Good article ... I am sorry, but I want more experience and hours (not rushed hours) if I am flying in a commercial airliner.

That's a lot of passengers at risk with that experience level and age ... especially a 19 y/o co-pilot ... no, I won't fly in that aircraft..

IMO ... the US Army had some of the best helicopters pilots at 18 y/o, but that is different ... military is different ... not as many get killed when you screw up.

I forgot to post this bit of info on the Blackhawk.....

I went back to check out some of the other performers on Sunday that were unable to fly Saturday do to low ceiling and started chatting with the Capt of the Helo...What I found was the one in the picture was shot down in Afghanistan with two RPG's flew about 80 miles fuel and hydro oil leaking and smoking and crash landed just outside the base all crew survived...

 

Can you post a shot of the Blackhawk? I see the CH-53 in your photos, but I don't see the MH-60. Cool story!

No, don't see any 2-seat squadrons at the boat. I did do a CAS det with VMFA 115 back in '08 down in Avon Park, FL.

 

It probably broke right there and the pilot's flew commercial home.

EDIT: Wait a minute, where are you? They're rocking a single IMER on the right wing and a FLIR it looks like on the left cheek. That has been a lot of our jet's configuration recently.
