True. It'll be interesting to see if it motivates them or if they start looking ahead to 2017

I would take him as an OC in a heartbeat, not a HC tho...

Talks about stealing the OC from Clemson though. Along with 3 prized recruits out of Tennessee

Kiffin will never coach again at UT after what went down the night he left. It would be funny to see how VOL fans would react though.

You would think, but all people care about now is winning. If they think he got the loose screw tightened in his head I'm sure they would welcome him with open arms

I got to meet a handful of recruits for UTenn a couple years ago. I ventured to Neyland for the Bama game and on the bus to our vehicles, there were some coaches and recruits on there. They were all very polite, and even though they were all dead set on committing to UTenn, they couldn't stop talking about Yeldon and Cooper. They were all from Florida, and when asked about playing against Bama, they said they loved the competition.

Saban has a particular set of tools, to tighten screws with. I'm not sure you can set the screws to create a head coach, but Kiffin is definitely a OC.

Agreed, great offensive mind in the right system. Needs a strong HC to keep him in check

Agreed on all the Kirby talk. I can't stand the "bring Richt back" crowd. I almost guarantee we lose to UNC and the Mizzou game if Richt is on the sidelines. Kirby has to get guys to fit his scheme. A big, powerful O line and guys that can rush the passer on the other side, along with solid Cover DBs. That definitely ain't Juwan Briscoe. Kid gets burnt more than toast.

I'm willing to bet they've watched the film from the first 4 games and have seen it.

I was actually guilty of thinking we'd be pretty good this year. I mean I thought we had some good talent and with Eason coming in I thought we'd make some noise. Also thought our o line would actually improve with the staff Kirby brought in. But that's not to say I'm down on Kirby, I'm excited for the next few years to come. I agree with what you said but of course y'all knew Saban was special coming in. Kirby is unproven as HC of course so time will tell but I had already been saying that he'd be the closest thing to a Saban out there.

The coaching transition did expose just how bad things really were, but the typical Georgia fans here just see the 10 win seasons from Richt and think that was acceptable. It was a indeed a good stride for us and had some great seasons under him but it still was basically the same thing every year. It was like watching the same movie over and over, the ending was still the same. It was a fun run but it was getting old since we weren't moving forward.

And this is, I think, the culture Kirby is trying to change in Athens. The idea that 10 wins is good enough. If you want to be relevant nationally, 10 wins isn't enough. You won't be playing for a natty without 12-13 wins (now with the playoff) before you get there. It sucks. But it's the way it is.
