Do you think bolt in would be a better option?

That's a tough question. I hate being critical of someone else's plans or work during my home hours, which is why I just offered to help if you needed some dialog ya know. That being said tig welding cromoly isn't for everyone and inclusions or insufficient penetration in a roll cage weld could literally mean someone could die. I know it sounds hyperbolic but the automotive racing guidelines are there for those reasons, the industrial codes are in place for similar reasons. If you feel comfortable welding one in, do it and be proud of it. I personally wouldn't want to fuck with it, I'd bolt one in lol.

Hm, I was planing on using 1 1/2 .125 wall mild and I only have a Mig I'm still saving up for a tig. But I'm open to any advice I can get. How would you do it?

That would do it, 1-1/2 0.125wall mild steel is allowable by some guidelines. If you mig it, you need to work out what you'll do about the back sides of the corners and tight spots to the floor and body where the squirt gun can't reach. I would run thinner cromoly tubing and tig it. But that's not really here nor there since my only truck plans include a leveling kit, 31" tires and hardparking at the mall so I can hit on the highschoolers.

Thanks again. I'll give welding it a shot, I've already bought the tube. But I will keep what you have said in mind. If I don't feel confident in it I'll abort and either get a kit or a good shop to put it in. I agree it's worth the life of myself or some one else to do it right.

It's a smitty built. There the only ones who I could find that make one for reg cab. It's ok the mounting system could be better but that's easier to deal with than cutting down a longer basket.

With a some buz box you can fix the mounts right up. The bottom of the mount is a hinge, once you find your roof angle zap the hinges so they don't pivot this will make them solid and prevent the squeaking every time you hit a bump.

Short answer, no. Long answer, at a very specific throttle position there is a faint wistle. But it is not noticeable with the wind noise on the roof rack and the sound of the exhaust. Although I tend to drown out whatever noise there is with music from any multitude of genres. The only noise that really annoys me is when my girlfriend nags me about my driving.

"Ramp Agent" is my official job title, although Ramp Rat fits better. Baggage Handling, Pushback, Baggage sorting, and Re-positioning Aircraft are all stuff i do. although, with the amount of rain we are getting in baltimore, i feel like "scuba Diver" should be added on as well

Nice. I miss the ramp. I did line maintenance in Texas for about six months, but my last couple jobs have been hangar maintenance, and heavy check.

Yeah. If you've got the certs for MX there's no reason to be on the ramp, IMO for the amount of BS we deal with every day we are far underpaid and understaffed. Especially when the weather goes to shit.
