Ya I know... it's tempting but it's either that or a bumper, I'm leaning at a bumper.

I'm starting my build on my latest AR. .223 Wylde with a 24" barrel to reach out and touch some'thing'. Complete build with NB BCG will be under $600. Similar style at Cabela's and F&S are around $2k.

Alright picked up a jumper today and went at the cb...
Here is where I'm at after first readings with only a ft jump in lenght on antenna and never touched the tip.
    Channels
    1. 1.6
    19. 1.3
    40. 1.25

They all fall in line too me...is there anything I might have done to get lucky or maybe miss a step? I adjusted nothing at all.

I was thinking 140 for them. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm wanting to do for suspension. But probably won't be using these though

typically the 1 and 40 would be higher than 19...19 should be almost nothing if your outer bands are that good.

But hey, if you did is this way, you are probably fine: http://www.rightchannelradios.com/blogs/installation-guides/18330687-cb-antenna-tuning-instructions

I always have trouble with the initial "SET" adjustment...my knob is pegged and it might not even be to 'SET' yet.

Also you need to be away from any objects (cars/walls/trees) and doors closed

You would probably be ok, there's a few stock oriented trails. Only issue I'd see for this weekend is it may be slick and a good all terrain tire is probably needed.

    Where ya located at anyways?
