Mines like that but not near that noticeable. You can barely see mine but the light has to be shining through it. I didn't think mine was a big deal, but yours is a larger gap

The tint was cut wrong. I had my tint cut by computer. The machine cut tint extended all the way to the edge of the glass on the rear windows. This happens when shops cut free hand and don't have enough experience.

I know a guy that does Car audio and tinting professionally and with comparing this to his work I would say it's a bad tint job.

Worked in that industry in the past. Not acceptable at all. I saw one guy use a sharpie to color in area... Not acceptable!!

Well I learned a lot about tint today. I emailed the place that did the job with some better photos. They called me and sorta tried to defend their guy. They offered to put a piece of vinyl over the tint to cover the gap as they had called their installer and he said their was no rubber to tuck it under. I told him it's really just amateur or lazy work and I'd take a refund and have it redone elsewhere. Then they said to just bring it in so we can look at it together.

So at lunch I found a legit tint shop where the owner/operator has 22 years experience and done over 18000 cars. I went and had a chat with him and he pointed out so many more flaws than I even saw. There were scratches on almost every window, a wrinkle, some excessive material in the corners of the windows which already started bubbling, all of which were not very noticeable. He said the job was crap and I got ripped off. I paid 550 and he said he would have charged 340 for ceramic. He told me all about tints and that they basically just overcharge you for the "Ceramic" tint. Ceramic is the best, but it's just not that much more expensive than regular tint.

I went back to my shop and pointed out all the flaws. I told them I paid the premium for a premium job and that this is shit. I recommended that they find a better installer for future customers. After looking at it with me, they sided with me. They have my truck back and are going to replace most of the tint. Hopefully it works out, and if not, at least I know where to go.

Thank you all for your input and I'll post up the aftermath tomorrow.

I would have them strip every window in that truck and do it again. Or get your money back. Shit job. I have no gaps or excessive material anywhere on my truck.

As a tinter with 16 years experience, that's a bad job. You should have them remove the film and get your money back.

And that price is really high too. I'd be retired by now if I were
    charging that much!

Yeah. I really didn't do much research ahead of time and just went for it trusting this place. Lessons have been learned...

I have 20% on my back window and 50% on my front windows. I was worried about having gaps on mine but i cant find any.

No freaking way. I've had 5 or so cars between the wife and I tinted. 1st thing I tell them is it's got to be perfect. No gaps, no dirt specs underneath the tint. I tell them that if they don't think they can pull that off I'll go down the road. Almost every time I've found the dirt and had them redo it before I paid. With my new taco they had a big gap like that on the rear slider. They redid it then I paid.
