If anyone is interested in ordering an Off-road package Tacoma 2017 model. I have an inferno and magnetic grey landing October 6, and Quicksand October 20.

Yes, if you got the BSM then the Cross Traffic Alert is part of that... I just got my BSM repaired... it quit 1 Month after I drove off the lot...
The CTA is supposed to make a beep/beep or something from the A pillar to the driver's left .... Mine has not gone off yet, as I have not been in that situation yet...!!

It might save a dog/kid someday..??

My sport came with the CTA and when I first drove it was like, na nothing impressive. That changed fast. I have a 200' long driveway that I must back out of so I keep my eyes on the rear camera display and it alerts if there is a car/person/etc coming down my road - and does so with tons of warning too. Great feature

If you are backing out of the Copeland Forest.. It should pick up a deer or 2 on your way backing outta the 200' driveway...
Why not just turn around...?? hehe.. Nice area to be living in my man..!!!:thumbsup::canada:

How many of you Canadian follows are having these issues blown up on the forums right now (tranny sucks, leaks, howls, rumbles, etc). I pickup my 17 sport on Saturday and made the stupid error of reading all the nonsense (hopefully nonsense). Starting to feel a bit queasy about giving in my 15 WRX that has been bullet proof and smooth as butter.

I just picked up my 2017 TRD offroad SB and absolutely love it. No problems here. Apparently I have one of the first landed in Western Canada.

I've had mine since last November, no leaks, no howls, no rumbles. Next month I'll get the tranny update, but I'm in no hurry.

Don't panic, it's all good! You'll learn to love it. This is a forum where you will always read bitchin' and whinin', just like every other forum on the web.

Thanks. I have a nice trek home from Kelowna on Friday. Dealers in the lower mainland pissed me off enough to take a mini vacation. Got the price I want, no hidden fees and helped a buddy with his month end numbers.

Doesn't hurt to be 0.5 km away from Mission Hill either.

Went from a 2008 Acura TSX to this. Couldn't be happier.

    image.jpg

That is my uncle's 2016 GMC Canyon in the background with a 2" spacer lift at the front. Got to say I am happy with my choice.

Mines a 6MT so my transmission its awesome :D

I AM having the diff howl (feather throttle between like 92-96km/h) but I'm mostly city driving or driving on the highway at 100-110km/h so it's not a bother. I do want to get it fixed while I have warranty but from reading on here it sounds like replacements aren't a fix so I'm waiting for a better fix to be found before I push it.

Other than that I love my truck, I don't think you should worry too much.

Haha thanks! The forest provides a major winter deer yard for the area. I love the area in all seasons. Couldn't be bothered to turn around, but again it's not so bad cause it a straight 200', double-wide lane.

Nice Tacoma, did you go auto or manual? Also is it the Canyon you're saying has the front lift, from the pic it sure doesn't look like it's lifted at all.

    Congrats on the new wheels.

I got my A/T TRD 4X4 Sport DC last Nov... The tranny just did not "feel" right to me... I asked them to check it and they said NO. So they lost a customer and I learned how to do the check myself (the ONLY person I trust with my truck)...

    1..Tranny was 3/4 liter low.
2...My 5 driveshaft zerks had not been grease by Toyota, just assembly amount of grease..they
ALL took 7-9 pumps on my grease gun.
3...Front diff was about 1 cup low.
4...BSM system failed a month into ownership.

Since then, I've had the tranny TSB and BSM repaired, finally (this month)...!!

I love the truck now...:thumbsup: I was not prepared to drive my truck while its low on fluid...

Hope yours is good... I did see 1 guy on here with a new 2017 that was 2 qt. low....

So far great experience with my 2016 Taco, no problems with the manual transmission.

My Truck has been fine. I had the TSB done without any hassles from the dealership. They also checked the transmission fluid without any hassle. Have yet to hear a howl or a rumble. Can hear some tire noise but thats to be expected.
I find there is a rather large amount of complainers on Tacomaworld. Toyota still knows how to build a reliable vehicle.

for those who ordered trucks, how long did it take between putting down a deposit, being approved and then being allocated a vin and build date?

I'm probably being impatient but it's almost been a full week and I put 25% down so I doubt I wouldn't be approved

Ordered Sep3rd. Not sure if that would go in on a Saturday, or if the order went in on the 5th.

$500 Down, last I've heard is Oct 23rd, it's been bumped since the 27th. Not sure if there's a way to track it, I never asked.

Doesn't seem too tough to get them in the Toronto area. I went in with my wrx just to window shop (last Thursday), and only because I wanted Metalic grey in sport, 4x4 and double cab am I picking it up tomorrow versus next day.

That being said, the dealers here seem to be stocking the sport double cab configurations, and they don't stay on the lot long. Originally wanted the off road but not too fussy between the two, luckily because I have yet to see an off-road here for sale.

So to answer your question, 1 week

I was worried when I heard all them since I haven't even ordered mine yet. ASked many from this thread it seems its mostly only effecting american models. I think only one reported canadian model.

Someone mentioned it might be just lack of quality control down there. Sure they are all made in the same plant but they aren't selling like hotcakes here like they are down in the states so the demand isn't as high and they are taking their time with our builds. Just a theory.

my dealer doesn't have an Inferno TRD OR in DCSB in stock, so they're ordering it from factory. I'm not going to another dealer because I work for the auto group
