I have no need for a super duty. However, I get moist between my legs when I look at red super duty dually. SO gorgeous.

Saw one in Beverly Hills the other day (Montana plates). All black. Brand new (looked like current body). It was lowered slightly on Kenworth truck like wheels. I almost had a multiple orgasm.

I just can't get over the crap build quality of American trucks, to own one. Tundra will have to do for me.

I just went from a 2011 4 cyl to a 2016 6 cyl. The 4 was fine for me, but got a really good deal on a 6. If she was fine before, she'll probably be fine with it again.
-hands down 4 cyl if she plans on it lasting the rest of her life.

Interesting, I went back and re-read the thread. You're right, that's not a very good apples to apples comparo because wheel weight makes such a huge difference (unlike pulleys!).

Anyways I wasn't out to tout the 190hp/200tq number as gospel, just a sort of best guess given the data. It does feel like a remarkable difference though. The LCE is impressive in many ways. Stout as hell, incredibly well made and designed.

Also, 4 cyl threads always turn into shit shows just like 4x2 threads. It's kind of like telling someone you drive a Miata. Some people just have a meltdown. "Why are you having fun, you're wrong!!"

I vouch for the I4 double cab. Currently own one and might be upgrading soon (not related to the "lack of power") but so far it has served me well. Good enough for casual driving, to work, for college and even hauling some stuff(about 600-700 pounds? I have done).

The way you describe her, I doubt she will be trying to race with this truck, do any heavy towing, or anything dumb that this truck is not supposed to be for. So proven reliable engine, and $$$ savings are the advantages here. Seems like a deal to me. Make her test drive both to make it official and to make sure everything is out of the system, verified, and no regrets later down the road.

My 4 cyl 5 speed regular cab 4x4 isn't sluggish. It is lighter than an AC or DC. I've never longed for more power. Recently I was following some ricers and noticed I was going 86 mph. The A/C doesn't slow it down noticeably either. Maybe my right foot is more aggressive than average.

I don't know the weights of my truck compared to an AC or DC, that'd be interesting but I'm not in the mood to dig through the net now.

Unloaded weight on my registration is 3454 lbs. I'll stop at a weigh station soon when I see a closed one and weigh it.

    Certainly the header does help.

And yes some people just can understand that what they want isn't what everyone needs. Can't count the number of times people here have told me I can't drive a 5-lug in CO, etc. I do just fine.

The "if you ever even need it once" argument is BS. I haven't ever, but if I did, not the end of the world.

It's the American way. If it's not the top tier trim level, it's not worth buying. :annoyed:

Nice! I have an NA, my dad has an ND. Didn't get to drive mine all summer because of various issues, one of which being mold in the trunk. Tail light seals went on me and I didn't realize until it was reeking.:frusty:

The day I brought it home vs about a year and a half later.

I think a lot of that is people taking the salesperson's upsell to heart. I bought my Utility package full well knowing I was going for the bottom dollar Taco. Funny though, now a few months later it has TRDOR suspension ($250 secondhand) and TRDOR Foglights (~$150 secondhand) ... so $400 and a little bit of tinkering gets me the 2 biggest features I lusted after on the OR, at a base price almost a full $9,000 lower!:dancingbacon:

    Peppy and strong.

So? The 4-cyl will tow better than fine, even at more than double the printed limit.

If she wants a 4-cyl, LET HER HAVE A 4-CYL. Don't try to talk her out of getting the BETTER truck, which is also LESS EXPENSIVE.
The 4 will do everything the 6 does, on 2/3rd the fuel (compared to 4.0) or about 3/4 the fuel (3.5).

6-cyl is for dudes who are unsatisfied with their size.

    ^^^ THAT!

But actually, the 6 isn't any *faster* than the 4, since they both have an electronic governor that will cut them off at the same top speed (which they both can easily reach if you are on a closed track where it is legal to test it). If anything, the 6 may be *quicker* than the 4, but why? I don't EVER use full throttle to accelerate my 4-cyl anyway, so what benefit would there be to a 6 that can accelerate quicker?

    Haven't owned a ND.

My first NA was long nose 1990. Second was 1995 R, my favorite.
