The 1500 Sierra's at least 14s had the gauges light up red.

Dude your calling the rest of us out generalizing trying to say its all hate and no fact, but you didn't even know what brand truck a ram was under (fiat post)or any other significant info about the 3rd gen issues people are having so your credibility is kinda flawed, just saying, not personal just calling it as it is.

That is a good point though, in 2014 even GM had LED dome lights and cabin lights, meanwhile my 2016 Tacoma had regular dome and cabin lights...

I'm sorry I live in the USA ... I haven't seen a Fiat truck since forever... not trying to be an "expert" just sayin! I'm sure there are Fiat trucks somewhere in the world, just not local to me!

Ok, movin on... Go grab a beer and a sense of humor!

Fiat trucks have been on the road for several years. They say Ram, Jeep, Chrysler on them

I have one, and again RAM which is a truck in the USA is owned by FIAT :facepalm:point is OP is asking for advice, most of us gave him that based on fact or experience, you just gave him your opinion with no regard to any fact/evidence, as well as claim everyone who said otherwise was full of it, so how does that help the OP with his possible major purchase?

Honestly as much as I WANT to say "take the plunge" and get the taco, I feel like it would be such a risk financially and even safety wise right now. Sure you can trade it in with minimal loss if it is a problem child but what about the CPS failures causing people to break down on the highway? Toyota is lucky nobody has been involved in an accident yet.

I for sure know that I wouldn't put my son in a new Taco right now. If you really want it I would say wait until the bugs are worked out. If you need a new truck NOW look towards Ford or GM. I think that's as fair/unbiased of an answer as I can muster up right now considering my disappointment with Toyota.

Do you think instead of the Tacoma, you would have liked the Tundra better? I never have owned a Tundra, but my LC/LX with the same motor have been bulletproof

Same here, I had 14 Silverado for a year with zero issues. I liked my Tacoma a lot but shifting, windows rattling and hood was little annoying. Thank goodness I don't have those issues anymore!

I sat in one. It felt very dated. Would certainly go with the Silverado or Sierra again over a Tundra. Perhaps even a F150

    Agree, definitely dated.

For me the Tundra, 5.7L, bench seat, double cab, 8 feet bed would be ideal truck. Know if any updates to it coming?

My taco is dead reliable. I would never trade for an out of warranty GM truck.

my 99 was part of the buy back program, I made 4k after driving it for about 4 years, then got another grand off the new (09) taco. Just wish I was a better vehicle buyer then, as they soaked me, but my 09 that I payed about 25K for is worth more than my wife 11 outback that we payed close to 30 for. That is why I am buying another Tacoma, I am sure that Toyota will stand behind their product. You just might have to push em a little.

I thought it was 170 a few posts ago. But any ways, lets say 180 out of how many Tacomas did yota sell?
