Biggest thing that cut down on rasp for me was adding a resonator before the muffler...i went with a vibrant ultra quiet 14"....

What about like 4 crisp 100s and 2 wrinkled 100s and then 100 tattered ones that have been in a strippers ass crack?

There isn't a good fix unfortunately, it's always gunna sound pretty shitty. I've had better luck with the Aero Exhuast 2525XLs that are on there now tho. I'm pretty limited in space so we built an X-pipe under the oil pan and dumped a muffler about 3/4 of the way down the cab along the frame on both sides. Sounds cool at idle, almost has a little lope to it but once you get back on it its pretty loud again. I've probably tried 10 different setups before we got here too.

I recently re did mine from the cats back, new y pipe that is tucked up high around the back of the xfer case then into a MF 4x9 then follows the frame rail up and dumps before the rear axle. I have a 3 link so my muffler has to be under the cab, if you can keep the muffler further back on the OE location do it. That 4x9 is pretty quiet and small enough that it is 100% above the bottom of the frame.

i wanted the race venom.. called the local shop that said they had them in stock.. went down there and all they had was the 250.. so i ended up just getting it.. still sounds awesome and i have no complaints.. but i will most likely pick up a race venom soon to test it out.. the 250 is pretty loud.. havent heard the race venom in person yet on a tacoma but im sure its louder lol

I'm running the Urd spec-u with Afe headers and hollowed out front cats. I installed vibrant ultra quiet resignators in the y-pipe where the downstream cats normally would be, and I replaced the 3" ultra quiet resignator that Urd uses with a 14" magnaflow muffler. The truck sounds almost stock except at idle. All you can hear is the supercharger. It was even quieter when the resignator a were new. Next month when I start installing my links I'll have to redo it. I'm planning on swapping out the front resignators for dead end tubes. I'm pretty happy with the setup, but I'm not really an exhaust person unless it's on an American v8.

I've had a black widow muffler sitting on the shelf for a few months, hopefully someone with a Tacoma will come along looking to have one installed so I can hear it. The only muffler I've installed into stock exhaust piping that has sounded semi decent is the aero turbine. I'd love to hear one installed in conjunction with a resignator.

Right on. Yeah I think the Race Venom and the Widow maker is their louder end of mufflers. Once the can actually warms up it sounds badass! I blame it partly for my gas mileage:burnrubber:

Love the fact that they don't drone either.

My doors are the only stock things left besides the headlights
Yea I have resinators in the mid pipe on each side, maybe add another resinator before the muffler and try a different muffler?

I'm actually already running 2 mufflers, one being the origial 5x11x24" magnaflow the Urd spec-u ships with. The mufflers are more than enough. I'm currently looking to pick up clean up stray resonance. The dead pipes should do it. At cruising rpms and highway speed it is very close to stock
