On my 2010 4.0 with TRD SC, DTLT's (has a new fake out wiring kit for the now missing cats). I've recently cleaned the maf, 4 new 02 sensors, and as mentioned replaced the original front cat delete wiring with a new one 10,000 miles ago. The truck has about 136,000 miles on it with 95,000 on the sc and headers. The only thing I have not updated are the rear cats.

It will be fine for a few weeks, then cel comes on for a few days then goes back off. Any ideas as to what it needs to keep cel off for good?

    Codes-

    1. P0103 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit High Input
    2. P0108 Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
    3. P0161 Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
    4. P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
    5. P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)
    6. P0607 Control Module Performance

That wiring harness is no good. P0420 is basically a CAT code that gets thrown when the CAT blows up or gets cut off. The wiring harness is screwing something up because the MAF, and both O2 sensors are throwing codes that would indicate that they are broken or not working correctly. My money is that harness is garbage. Sorry bud.

    Nooooooooooooooooo.

Well as noted, the front 2 cats are no longer there due to the headers, despite the wiring sent with them to show the computer they are.

These are not the same codes I'm getting. I put the URD Long Tubes on w/ their O2 Simulator and I get codes a minimum of once a day. Gadget asked me to send the O2 sim back so he could try sendin gme a less aggressive one. My problem is my life is so damn busy I literally haven't had time to crawl under the truck anddisconnect the stupid thing so I can ship it to him.

The codes I'm getting indicate a "slow Rich to Lean" on the O2 Sensor itself. Gadget basically told me that's normal on the newer Tacomas (though I didn't get a year cut off). He suggested he may not even be able to get me an O2 sim that actually fixes the problem. Wish their site said that before I bought the headers and the simulator.

What is stupid though is that Toyota thinks it's a good idea to disable traction control when the CEL comes on. What about those of us with winter weather approaching? Just seems like a liability thing on their part by intentionally shutting down traction control for no necessary reason other than punishing those with CEL that are on.

Exhaust gas leak on a 4Runner will disable ABS as well. Go figure the smarts in that....

Go figure gadget sells a part that does not work. I had the same issue on 15 with his 0/2 sim. I sent email asking how he was going to fix the issue. Never did a anything to help. I ended up taking that 0/2 sim out of the truck and tossing it in the trash.
I now have 2 vibrant 0/2 sim with the smallest spacer. I still get codes 420/430. But now only about once a week or less. I'm about really to pull the URD headers off my truck and go to some JBA shortys with highflow cats

I had a ton of CEL issues with my similar setup. I finally replaced all my header studs and used lock nuts on them. Runs like a striped ape now. You need "external torx" sockets to replace.

The old header gaskets were replaced as well because when the original nuts worked loose they opened up a gap along the bottom of each header that essentially blew out all the gasket material so that they looked like wire mesh.

Check all your vacuum hoses for leaks or simply replace.

    Replace PCV valve.

    Check exhaust for leaks.

I did all the above and after four years of CEL's it finally runs as advertised.
