Which looks best. I'm leaning with out.

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
    Cool looking truck!

Really like that rear bumper too!

Is the color "Desert Sand Mica"?

Anyway, in my opinion, those particular style of side steps do not look all that impressive on your Tacoma. But I strongly believe that a different style of side steps (maybe black?) would make your Tacoma "pop-out" visually.

But to answer your original question, better without those particular chrome style side steps.

Thank! Yes on the color. I agree about the chrome style. I'm setting here telling myself I'm not spending anymore money on that truck. But in the back of my mind I'm thinking, what will it hurt to just look.

Haha....dude we 'never' stop spending $ on our Tacomas no matter how many times we say we're not.

My 2008 Tacoma is the Desert Sand Mica color with black Predator side steps.

Are you got go wheel it? Do you or anyone else that rides in the truck need the steps to get in?

I may be biased because I just don't like nerf bars. Looks better without them. But if you need them, you need them. If you wheel the bars will get crushed. Need real sliders for that.

Hell, I even manage to dent my sliders last trip...

Nice looking rig either way

Definitely without. You have done all this expensive stuff that says offroad...bumpers, lift, tires. Then a nerf bar. Nothing says mall bound poser to an offroader like a nerf bar does.

I'd vote no nerf bars. I just replaced my ugly nerf bars with some amp research steps. Spendy but helpful for my short mother with an artificial knee and they look much better and give a little more clearance than the nerf bars did. I do some very minor wheeling to get to the fishing hole etc so sliders although I like the look, aren't really necessary for me. Get what you need for your application.

No nerf, and paint your pinch weld (if you haven't).

It's 100% true though. Nerfs are made for a lot of things but offroading isn't one of them. Bump them a little and they bend. Bump them hard and they damage the truck because they mount to the body. Sliders mount to the frame and are designed to take an impact.
