Ok that's cool. I'll use both then as that seems like it will be the safest thing to use.

My racks have arrived in Buffalo, gotta wait till next friday to grab em when I'm camping. Pretty pumped.
Out of curiosity can anyone confirm the amount of slats that come with the 05-15 cab rack and how many slats come with the long box canopy rack?
Thinking about ordering some extra ones

Install of the cab rack done. 4 hours and lots of learning on the go(and cursing). The canopy should go smooth now.

I used normal clear silcone for bathrooms and the like, worked great waterproofing the canopy.

Ill post a better pic in the daytime.

someone who's installing please post a pic of your holes. haha. in the other FR thread on here folks are talking about using the recommended hole punch. i have a 22mm hole saw but i don't want a rough finish on my hole. maybe get a hole punch set from Harbor Freight?

seems like instead of cutting a square out of the bottom of the strip for each spacer you could drill one circular hole. i don't have a drill press but i was thinking about clamping the strip to a board and driving through with the hole saw. anyone who's done the the install can you see any issues with this idea?

I used a hole saw, my drill was not powerful enough to go through the metal strip so i had to cut the square first and use cutters. But if you have a good drill and good saw bit, its possible to go through.

By far the most tedious and annoying part of the whole install was getting the holes lined up and perfect. I had to do a little extra trimming, but you cant tell and it looks perfect

They are talking about the rubber ditch guards. If you want to reinstall them you need to punch/drill 5 holes thru them to pass the spacers thru.

I'm interested in seeing a closer view of the holes in the ditch guards as well. I bought a hole punch kit on Amazon, I'll see if I can find a link for it.

    https://www.amazon.com/SE-791LP-Hea...qid=1475377237&sr=8-1&keywords=hole+punch+kit

Hmm... this might not work though, as I don't think it's quite large enough. Bummer.

I don't use the satelite radio in my truck, so I was thinking about going through the shark fin.
