I don't like it. They should have won this year. Got screwed by the league suspending Green. Could very well have won game 5. Then choke it all to hell. Now, they'll mortgage the future for Durant. I dunno. Can't win? Buy a championship. Ah well. It's the NBA. Where Connely gets 153 million. Holy crap!

 

I think if we had won again this year, Durant would not have come over. I feel like fatigue kicked in for the dubs this season having to play 14 games in the last 2 rounds. No idea where steph went in the finals but this definitely bolsters our team. We didn't need KD to win another title but if we have a shot at getting him, why not make a run for it. Right now, its only a 2 year deal (with durants option after 1) so we didn't have to give up a whole lot. What happens next summer when iggy and steph's contracts are up, we'll see but at least we aren't locked into a player like, Mike Connely for 3+ years.

I don't mind seeing barnes walk (I did not want us to match 4 year 94mil for him) or ezali, though I hate to see Bogut go. He was the rock in our starting 5.

To an extent, yes. But that call was horseshit. Double technical was all it should have been. NBA and officials failed.

 

People are already assuming that the assembly of this super team guarantees rings. I think the Miami situation is a bad comparison because it involves Lebron, who by now is clearly the single most influential, best, and biggest component player in the league for this generation. 6 straight Finals appearances bouncing back and forth...but I digress.

Even with the addition of West, things that seem guaranteed have a knack of falling apart. Stacking the deck rarely works out the way you envision in sports. 2007 Patriots, 2015 Panthers, Rockhold vs Bisping, Serra vs GSP, OKC vs GSW and [Cleveland over GSW]. I could go on, but you get the idea.

Assuming they net no significant injuries, they're under a huge amount of pressure already. And though they are the rightful favorites in the west, even if Duncan retires SA has a new veteran to fill in the gap off the bench for Lamarcus. Being coached by Pop doesn't hurt, either. I don't buy the Clip show as championship material, but a healthy LA could also upset GSW in all reality.

And KD has really put himself in a bind here. If he wins a ring, it's not on his own strength. It's a team that already won in 2015, and went right back to the Finals. He didn't do anything than hop on an already-moving bus. And if he doesn't get one, he will be lambasted and ridiculed for the rest of his life.

 

There are no guarantees. Period. This year confirms that for the GSW's. They pushed themselves to get 73 wins, then ran out of gas in The Finals. Very disappointing. The Warriors have been very good at evaluating for the draft. I hope to see more indications of that to fill out the roster. They're going to need that contribution to compensate for the lack of cap room this coming season. As stated above, I'm not that happy about KD coming to the team. Time will tell.

 

I think KD might have been fine if he stayed in okc. After the draft they picked up some help they might have given the warriors a run for their money come playoffs

LeBron James has agreed to a three-year, $100 million contract with the NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers, agent Rich Paul told ESPN.

The salary in the first year of the deal will be $31 million, making James the highest-paid player in the NBA for the first time in his career. The salary for the 2017-18 season will top $33 million, making him the highest-paid player in a single season in league history, topping the $33 million Michael Jordan earned with the Chicago Bulls in the 1997-98 season.

 

An NBA Finals rematch between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors is the centerpiece of the five-game Christmas Day slate, the league announced Thursday as it revealed the schedule for the 2016-17 season.

It's the second consecutive year the teams will meet on Christmas. This time, however, the champion Cavaliers will host at 2:30 p.m. ET on ABC. The second game of the ABC doubleheader is the Chicago Bulls visiting the San Antonio Spurs at 5 p.m.

Well, my Warriors boycott is over. I was so pissed they choked in the Finals that I decided not to watch for a while. I've been following the games. Just not watching. Decided to see how Durant was integrating with the team. Tuned in last night to watch them play the Pacers and it was something to see. Clay Thompson went off for 60 points in 29 minutes on the floor. 142-106 was the final score. The team looks strong. Still dishing out 30 assists in most games. 18-3 record so far.
