This may not be original...but it is to me and I thought I would share it just in case anyone else likes it.

Since our oil filter is on the top of the engine, many of us use some hose to connect to the nipple on the collar of the filter housing to drain into the catch pan. Nothing wrong with that at all. This is just an alternative to using a hose.

I just took a plastic cup (a slim one), put a couple of holes in the rim and attached a small bungee cord to it. When your done carefully lift it out and dump it. Throw the cup away or clean it out and use it next time.

Update: This has worked flawlessly for me for a few OCs now. But I recommend crimping the hooks closed to keep it attached to the cup better.

Smart, simple idea-thanks for posting. I will give it a try at my next oil change.

I use a waterbottle but this is a more earth friendly approach

Novel and may be easier than trying to snake that tube through to the oil catch pan.

Right. That is the engine oil cooler that comes with the tow package. Those black hoses you see carry engine coolant to the bottom of that cooler to lower the oil temp.

Also...I've used this a few times now. I recommend squeezing the hooks closed so the bungie cord stays attached to the cup. Makes it a bit easier when installing and removing...especially when it's got oil in it.

I did the same thing using a small soup can and 1/2 of a wire clothes hanger. Probably last forever.
