My drive way is narrow and difficult to navigate in the dark. The back up lights on my 02 Prerunner don't help a lot. Has anyone changed his lights? Led bulbs? Complete new light?

Replaced mine with extra bright led's. Way brighter then stock. You can also get some flush mount pods and install them in your bumper and they wire right in the your taillights for even more light.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/231962448464 pricey but bright as hell. Im using them in my blinker housings as fog lights.

They show up super blue in the pics but i assure you their not.

Do you have room to slap some pods on your rear bumper? I love mine, plus it helps when we're working on the back to turn them on with the rock lights. you can also attach them to the trailer harness so you don't have to run wires all the way to the front if you don't want to have an independent switch?

below are two pods I picked up on Amazon...

I have one of these. Makes your truck super visible to other motorists when switching lanes, braking, etc. The backup light is spliced to the taillight, it's crazy bright. It lights up my whole driveway. Plugs into your 4 pin trailer harness. (My '98 didn't have a towing package, so I had to install a tow light harness myself.)

Well worth the effort, it looks great and makes you visible.

Yes, I ordered the 48", it's about 2 inches too short on each side though. I looked far and wide and I could never locate one that fits the whole length of the 1st gen bumper perfectly. It's the closest length the original bumper.

Don't cheap out, this light bar is on the more expensive side at 50 dollars. I've seen them go for 10-20 dollars on eBay. Don't do it, they're dim and cheaply made. This one is different because it's rigid, and encased in silicone (IP-67 rated) unlike the other ones which are just flexible strips that are barely waterproof. This is a crazy good investment and it'll blind the drivers behind you with how bright it is.

Are these brighter than OEM? I got some smaller leds for my reverse lights and can't see jack! Thinking about doing the flush mounts in the bumper. Just can't bring myself to cutting two holes in my bumper yet:eek:. Thought about bolting pods to my Reese hitch too!

I picked up a set of these exact bulbs. They are definitely brighter than stock bulbs. Not blinding or anything, but a big improvement.
