Anybody else excited about the Perseids? They peak tonight Aug 11-12. I plan on setting up the GoPro for a night lapse. It's has been really cloudy all week though but the forecast calls for clear sky 12am - 5am. Hopefully I'll get some good images.

Aw man. Maybe it will clear up at just the right time. It cleared up here. Worried about fog overnight but I'm going to record anyway!!!

Well I managed to get one good photo. The time lapse was OK up until around 2am when out of nowhere clouds appeared an ruined it. So 1 photo out of 1480 taken. I might try again tonight after I get the security light on our power pole turned off. Way too much orange glow in my footage.

Was out in the Wa state Grant county farmlands last night picking up a load of veggies in the pitch black. Knew that they were going to hit around 11pm to the east there. Had the corn combines stopped and announced it on the 2 way radio,,lol,,they all climbed out of there combine/harvesters, and stood there for a bit watching as we waited for the next truck. Seen about a dozen or so in about a 20 min span and one long greenish spacejunk re-entry streak to the hard northwest. Some implied hyper speed out of those little guys as they burn and skip off,,ya gotta be quick!. Total darkness and quiet out there with the service truck and combines/lights all shut down. I guess the High Mojave was the 4th of july there last night, consistent and rapid count entrys. Interstellar vibe man,,Interstellar!. lol. Just started my recent read on the new-to-me Halo book, so I was all space geeked out by the time we spotted. Phucking phone died again or would have time lapsed the 20 min. You really need a dedicated bug eye lens and high def tripod mounted camera to get a good exposure. Talking a gps, constant adjust, guided base type of thing.

I agree so far. According to NASA 2014 was the hottest year on record. What didn't get reported is that it was the hottest year on record by .02 degree (2 100s of a degree) and that there's a 68% chance it's not true.

Damn! Check the volume,,run it at 1/2. A couple pretty high P-wave bang and pops. Shot my Sennheiser Pro's thru the ceiling, Ouch!.
Bad day at the cape. Bummer.

Second stage lit instead of first stage?

EDIT: Second blast might have been first stage fuel supply.
