I've looked on here for a thread related to my question but had no luck in finding one. I've been looking at the Mastetcraft Courser MXT's. I was talking to a friend last night and he said he had a pair of the old ones but they were 4 ply and he had problems with puncture resistance. According to simpletire, the new ones are 10 ply. Has anyone had any experience with these? I've seen on here where they were talked about but didn't specify if they were the old 4 ply or new 10 ply. Any info would be helpful. Puncture resistance, tread life on daily driver, grip, ect.....

They're "E rated" which means 10 ply RATED, NOT 10 ply. Same holds true with E rated tires across the board. That said, the Mastercraft MXT is a very tough tire. I'll be putting a set on my truck at some point. (285/75/16's) A couple friends are currently using them. They wear well, seem to be as puncture resistant as any other tire in their price range, and they provide excellent traction in mud and rocks.

I've never heard anything but great things about them, esp. considering their low price, ordering mine in a few weeks.

I appreciate it guys. I'm currently in El Paso, Tx and the guy I talked to here said he didnt have any luck with them here. Like y'all said though, for the price I don't think you can beat them. I greatly appreciate the feedback.

The MXT is only a 2 sidewall ply tire, hence the low weight and price.

Do you know if 285s will rub a lot with a 3.5" lift? They look like pretty wide tires

These tires are made by Copper tire FYI as well, I've seen lots of trucks with them around my area...
