I have an 07 Tacoma that came with a 3 in Procomp lift when i first got it 5 years ago. The only thing I have done since i bought it was to replace the procomp shocks with Bilstein 5100 both fwd and aft and I added SPC light racing UCA to help with alignment.

I use my Tacoma on very bad dirt roads a lot and the suspension feels and sounds horribly right now so I think it is time for a light upgrade.

I will definitely replace all 4 shocks. However I was wondering if it would be worth spending 200+ to replace the Procomp coils with Eibach coil springs paired with the 5100´s

Another option i´ve been considering is the Bilstein 6112 offered by wheelers offroad for the front. $659 https://goo.gl/N7I5cZ

    Or Toytec´s coilover with bilstein 5100 $ 620
    https://goo.gl/E6HEhv

I would like to spend $1000 tops for both front and rear. So if there are any better options I am all ears.

    Thanks for the help

I just put on 6112s, but nothing in the rear yet. Did the 5160s make a huge difference for you? debating whether or not to just go with 5100s....

dont spend your money on the toytec setup... its WAY overpriced.

6112's in the front, and 5100's or other offerings in the rear.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I like my OMEs in all corners. Would recommend replacing the leaf pack. Mine was saggy after 1 year without any towing done.

Something to note on the 5160s. They only allow a 1.5" lift so if you plan on lifting higer, go another route. Otherwise they ride like a dream and look cool.

I have them installed with OME dakar leaf packs. Not sure if the leafs or the shocks made the difference but it rides like a dream over train tracks and pot holes

That setup sounds great, where you able to lift more than 1.5 in with the dakar leaf pack?

I am pretty sure it's more than 1.5". I do have a fiberglass Cap on the bed and did not remove any of the overload from the leafs. I currently have about 1k miles on the lift setup and knock on wood am yet to have any issues other than the needle bearing TSB. The front coilovers were set on the 4th notch. The leafs are supposed to lift 2.75-3" if i am not mistaken so I probably fall around 2-2.5.

Be careful, The Bilstein product page specifically states up to 1.5" lift for the 5160s. I wouldn't recommend over exceeding recommended specs. You could wear out your shock a lot faster

I'm working on getting an Icon Vehicle Dynamics system under my truck. Have their rear resi shocks now, gonna put a long travel in the front when I'm not broke. Would definitely recommend Icon, mine ride really well

I'd love to have an Icon system but they are so darn expensive. Bilstein is 1/3 the price and for the amount of Off-Roading I do (3 times a year) I'm OK. Plus Bilstein works really well with Toyota, It alsmost seemed like they were made for this truck.

Just looked at the front non-resi coilovers and they are a lot more expensive than I thought they would be. I'm still running stock shocks with 3" blocks and 4" spindles, I'm about ready to ditch the long travel dream and just get mid travel

Yeah I look every once in a while. It seems like every good deal is local only and usually in california, or they need to be rebuilt to begin with.
