If you saw my other post you'd see that I'm brand new here, This is question #2 for me....

So, I have an 03 Tacoma and it's the TRD Off-road package but the suspension SUCKS. Could it just be old or is this common?

My 01 Cherokee had better suspension with an inexpensive (under $500) replacement, I might be regretting getting rid of it for my truck.

What about it sucks? How many miles are on it? Without knowing these details, and to answer your initial question; it is old and needs replaced. Plus, stock suspension sucks anyways...IMHO of course!

Dude, it's a 13 year old suspension...rip it out and put something decent under there. Problem solved.

OK. Maybe I should define "sucks". I'm used to stiffer suspension. Not feeling it too bad when I go over a speed bump a little fast. Stiff enough so I don't feel like I'm riding a vomit comet or get whiplash (exaggerating a bit) or get when I'm doing some light offroading. It's got 175,000 miles on it, which I've heard isn't that much for one of these trucks.

My budget is about $600. With that I was able to get a suspension replacement AND a 3" inch lift (not a block and spacer thing) for my previous vehicle (Cherokee). Does something like that exist in that price range for the Tacoma? I'm not opposed to A LITTLE higher but $1,150 is too rich for this college student.

Assuming you haven't done any research on this forum whatsoever, start here; http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com...with-5100-shocks-for-95-04-Tacoma_p_1137.html

With 175k miles, you may want to get new rear leaf springs as well. And also replace your upper and lower ball joints, and whatever other bushings that are probably worn out. But don't take my word for it, I would read through the first gen and suspension sections first.
