Insight on 4WheelParts Customer Service

I recently had some email exchanges with a representative with 4WheelParts. I was inquiring about making sure I had the right wheel specs before pulling the trigger on the Pro Comp 5001 Series & Cooper Discoverer A/T3's set at @ 265/70/17. The guy was really nice and I don't mean to doubt him, as I am a noob trying to learn. But based on my research on here and seeing what people have done to their trucks it seems what he said is excessive? In regards to the lift/trimming. I was under the impression I would only get minor rubbing on the front mud flaps which can be removed.

Current Wheels on 2011 TRD Taco Access Cab: 265/70r16
Stock TRD Off-Road Wheels: 16x7, +32 mm offset, 5.25" backspacing, 6x5.5" bolt pattern

"We would run a 17x9 6x5.5 4.75bs 5001-7983 wheel on your Tacoma. The wheels will stick out a little more than stock so the 265 tire clears the upper control arm. You would need to do a 2-3” lift to clear the tire along with removing the mud flaps and some minor plastic trimming. You can call me to order and I can make sure you get all the correct parts. Once again, not bashing 4WheelParts.com. Just seeking opinions before I buy/install the 5001's and Coopers. Thanks guys/gals.
