    I believe 1/4 inch of threads = .5°

I have dirt king hiem arms but it should be the same

ok so i think what your saying is if only the rear side is moved out 1/4 inch, then it equates to .5° caster.. (i understand this will affect camber as well and that ill have to get an alignment before i see any real benefits) im just trying to push the wheel forward to alleviate the rubbing..

EDIT also my lowers are not hard mounted

Been doing a ton of research for my 15' dcsb suspension set up and I think I have settled on King 2.5s up front with light racing upper control arms.
In the rear a 3" Dakar leaf pack with fox 12" 2.0s relocated with shackle flip and xj shackles. Limit straps and extended brake lines to accommodate.

My question is how can I do this and achieve a semi level vehicle? Should I plan on removing the 3rd leaf in the Dakar pack to lower the rear a little to accommodate the lift that will be gained from the shackle flip? In doing so will I lose travel by removing a leaf?

I want to run 285s and primary use for the truck is crawling. In a few years I'm going to sas the front but I need a set up to get me by for now.

No. When adjusting the hiems if you screw them in or out 1/4 of an inch it will change camber by .5°. each truck will be different.

If you really intend on doing a solid axle conversion up front then why not do something inexpensive for now (or nothing at all) and save some cash. You're going to need it.

Also, read this. Very informative post regarding flipping the shackles and leaf packs.

I don't want to sas the truck until it's paid off and I have another 4 years left. That will give me time to acquire parts to do it right but in the mean time I still want a capable rig for moderate trail abuse.

No I just used the little metal universal resi mounts and welded them to the sheet metal right behind where the resi is pictured. It's strong enough and was going to add a support rod from the frame to the backside of the sheet metal but don't think there is a need after having no issues

    Where were yours mounted before?

I checked the mounting location without the coil in when I cycled the front at full turn/bump to assure to rubbing.

I had to relocate/remove the windshield wiper fluid container

You can remove leaves from the Dakar pack for lower ride height, and lower weight capacity.

I'm not sure about negative arch issues though, but that won't be affected by home many leaves you take out.

Quick math: Dakar is +3 to 5 inches of lift, shackle flip is another 3"? You can probably wring 3" out of the front, leaving you 3" or so bed high, with 300# in the bed. Of you pull a leaf from the dakars that's probably an inch or two less.

I don't think the Dakar's are going to give you 5 inches of lift.... Not after they settle. But idk.

Dakar should net me 2" if I remove the 3rd leaf and the shackle flip is 3/4", slightly longer shackles will give me an additional 1/2"-1" so in theory I should be at

3 and a 1/4 to 3.5 in the rear? This is all just based off of searching threads

Kings will net me around 3-3.5 up front

Longer shackles will only give you lift if you have a shackle flip kit

Right which I'll have and for every 1" gain in length in shackle over stock you gain 1/2" of lift correct?

Least that was the rule of thumb on my jeep

It depends on your shackle angle, the 50% ratio is based on a 45 degree shackle angle.

Might also loose some lift the the pack itself due to the additional preload on the springs.

Gotcha good to know I guess I'll just have to play with it and see where it ends up then. Anyone know what brake line length With Will 24" be long enough

That's worst case, with no load on the back of the truck. Mine (well used) are over 4" of lift with the bed empty.
