Late season trip to the Big Thompson between Estes & Drake in CO. Lots of pressure on that river all summer, but I managed to catch a couple, including this brown that could barely fit the tiny nymph in its mouth.

What do you guys all think of the sage one rod? I'm thinking about picking one up in either a 10' or 9' 4wt. Mostly going to be using it as a nymphing/multi fly rig rod. I fish mostly rivers but do the occasional float tubing and midging at some lakes. I have quite a few 9' 5wts and quite a few 2 and 3wts

I have 2 Sage One rods, a 7 1/2 ft 3w and a 9 ft 5wt. Both are excellent rods, accurate and easy on the shoulders. I can fish those rods all day and not have the sore shoulder I get from my Redding, Hardy and Orvis rods. Matched with a Sage reel, the One is a nice combo! The One 9ft is not as accurate for real up close casting as the Hardy Zenith but it excels in comfort, distance and windy conditions. The Sage One is $400 off right now at Bob Marriot Fly Shop in Fullerton....Tempting $$$$

That's the reason I'm really thinking about getting it lol. Cabelas also has it for $500 and you don't have to pay tax on it (California folks)

Excuse my language and the casting. First day on the rod and I had already landed 3 on my other rod. I botched this one pretty good. The chest cam sure shows how hard they hit.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Killed it on the bows today! Caught 23 fish altogether. Most fun I have had fly fishing in a few months. Anyone in the northbay ca area. CDFG just stocked Bon Tempe lake with 4,000 12-24 inch rainbows. Got there as the trout truck was leaving. The ranger looked at me and just said, "your about to have a great day."

Anyone ever fly fish New Zealand? I'm going to the north island in January and was looking for some advise on gear set up. I'll be there for 4 weeks and I'm looking to do a lot of fishing.
