Hey folks. My Wife and I are starting to take our young children camping. We aren't doing anything too extreme, just tent camping with the truck close by. I already have a good bit of gear that I've accumulated over the years, but I have a question regarding a propane setup. I'd like to run a 2 burner propane camp stove, and a propane lantern off of a single 20 lb tank. I've looked at a few distribution trees, but I've read where some are prone to leaking, they may not set securely on the cylinder, and I'd like to have the lantern up a little higher than the distribution tree allows. I'd like to use a Y-splitter at the cylinder and just run hoses to the the stove and higher up to the lantern. Does anybody here have any experience with either setup? Are there any problems here that I'm overlooking?

    Thanks!

I have a pole distribution system. Have not experienced any leaks. You don't have to put the lantern on the top of the pole. You can connect a hose to the lantern and hang it anywhere the hose will reach.

Thanks for that. Nothing beats first hand experience.
