Just Installed my tailgate cap ..... and WOW !!!! Fit and finish are top notch !! I was a little nervous about the " gap" but its really not an issue. The cap more than meets my expectations. Also the tailgate feels so much more sturdy and now has a solid feeling. Everyone needs one, you will not regret it !

I didn't read through this whole thread so my apologies if this has already been addressed, but is this compatible with a topper?

I think the consensus is that it helps a topper seal.

I modded mine slightly with an abrasion guard and to better seal to the cover

Will that discount code work for the bed rail/tailgate cap combo?

    No sir.

    We don't do sales.

Sales mean that you've been charging too much all along, and now you're desperate for cash, so you cut prices to move product. :broccoli:

ORRRR it could be used to entice someone into purchasing your products, albeit at a lower profit margin, whereas at the normal price that same customer may not yet be able to justify the expense...?

Eh, you'll get my money eventually either way.

It's designed, but we haven't released it yet. Are you getting itchy for one?

The curve could be produced with a shrinker/stretcher to allow a smaller gasket and tighter tolerances. It would be difficult to produce a consistent curve like that as opposed tossing it in a break, jig, or formed press and mass producing

i dry fit mine without foam, marked it, then placed the foam right above that mark. Im glad i did too, the foam compresses overtime and the cap is much closer to the actual tailgate than it used to be, much closer. I also wish a longer piece of foam came with it to cover the whole cap. Other than that seams ok.

Oh one more thing, i centered the cap about perfectly, and one side still hits the very top bolt on the inside of the bed when its shut. If you baby the gate it doesnt hit, but doesnt shut all the way either. Anyone else see this? My cap had to be ground around the bolt slightly, maybe 1/16 - 1/8", then repainted. And yes, as said, its centered.

Out of close to a thousand sold, there have only been two or three that have touched the bolt. Without actually seeing it in person, I couldn't say exactly why that would happen. It's designed with a lot of clearance.

Replacing the hex head bolt with a pan head would have been a much easier fix than grinding the cap.

It was already chipped and dinged, so a little grinding was nothing if i had to paint it anyway. 2 minutes to setup the dremel, or 20 minutes down to the hardware store
