Anyone in Miami area? Looking for a photographer who would want to do some family pictures for us. Sis in law had a baby back in June and my wife and I want to get her a short photo shoot for her bday present (her and 2 daughters)

anyone know what would cause this? theres a lot of small white dots all over some of my pictures, usually the ones I hold the shutter open for over like 10 seconds.

its weird because you see them much more clearly when the full image is opened but then they kinda fade away a bit...

Looks like hot pixels to me. Either clone them out or turn on dark frame subtraction when doing longer exposures.

Must be hot pixels, I've not seen that myself. At first I thought they were stars but then I looked more closely...

yeah, looks like hot pixels to me, too. astrophotographers take 'dark slides', same ISO, ambient temperature, and exposure length, but with the lens completely covered, then you subtract those from your images. astrophotgraphy often uses 5 or even 10 or 20 minute exposures so it becomes even more critical. my DSLR and mirrorless do 30s at ISO1600 w/o any obvious artifacts

did some research on hot pixels and thats what it looks to be, Ill try playing with noise reduction and whatnot, thanks

yea it looks like stars when i preview them on the camera but they are way too bright and on the ground and in clouds sometimes, plus it was relatively cloudy tonight

leave the lenscap on, and shoot the same exposures, you could even make a whole library of these 'dark slides' for various ISO and shutter speeds, then if you use software like photoshop, load the appropriate image from that library as a layer over your pictures, and do a 'subtract' of the two layers, this should completely remove them ... if it comes out negative, do the subtract the other way, you want (photo - darkslide) ..

He lives!! Headed through Aberdeen tomorrow on my way to Eureka hunting birds for the next 2 weeks with some other retired Navy guys. My time to try and capture pics of the prairie and the older farms with collapsing buildings and rusting farm equipment, which saddens me. Hope all is well!
