Sounds like a good plan for the next Tacomaworld meet and greet. :burnrubber:

It's tempting. My widdle bitty 2.7 gets up to 60 in a big damn hurry if I stand on it...

I'd be down! I've been waiting on a meet and greet since I joined up!

Bad cell maybe. I recently had that happen with a brand new battery. Bring it to be tested where you bought it. They should replace it under warranty.

Exactly what I was thinking, but I bought this one off Amazon. I've sent an email to Optima for some troubleshooting ideas, and I'll follow up with a call if I don't head back tomorrow. This battery install has gone less than smoothly, partly my fault, partly bad luck. Oh well, when it works I'm happy!

    Thanks! I appreciate it.

Best of luck getting it replaced, and with the dual battery set up.

Thanks! I've still got it hooked up to the charger. Every time the fault trips I just unhook it and reconnect it. Admittedly not my best idea, but oh well. Fire extinguisher standing by. I'm smoking hookah currently so the smoke detector has been mitigated.

I got it up to about 10.5v and now it seems to be going pretty smoothly. Hasn't tripped the fault circuit in a while. I just checked the voltage and I'm at just over 11v, so maybe I just had to pass that point. Hopefully I can get it charged and put it back in tonight or tomorrow morning. See how that goes.

Heading to the dealership tomorrow for my 5k maintenance. Lets see how much they want to charge me for work I could probably do on my own...

    o_O

Edit- never mind. Just looked up the actual 0-60 on my truck. I was just relying on the butt-dyno, lol.
But wow. She actually does go like stink, for a full-sized truck getting dragged around by a small motor.
    0-60: 5.7 seconds
    1/4 Mile: 14.3 @ 95mph
According to a C&D test of a heavier 2015 model. :notsure:

I won a yellow top in a raffle a few years back. It had the same issue. Lasted about 6months in my Tacoma. It's currently collecting dust in the corner of my garage.

Yeah, the eco boosts really do run. The 5.0 can't keep up unless it's modified and it gets worse the higher in elevation you get. The one thing the 5.0 does bring to the race though is the noise. The sound that engine makes when it's winding up is just awesome in my opinion.

That's not bad - Motorweek.org has my '13 Tacoma listed at:
    0-60: 7.8 S
    1/4 Mile: 16.1 @ 86mph

And that's with an automatic. I'm sure my 6spd is even slower. Maybe I should get in on the SC group buy... :p

    Morning all :pccoffee:

I'm trying to find a metal supply company that sells round tubing. The only place I could find that had any in stock was Metal Supermarket in Woburn. I saw a couple other suppliers but they only have square tubing listed on their website. Anyone know of another place to pick up some round tubing?

I buy mine from my local steel supplier. Not sure if there's one in your area, but that's the best place to go.

Yeah, the 5.0 sounds great at WOT. Cassie nearly got the 5.0 in her mustang, just because of the noise it makes, but with her commute the 2.3EB really was the better choice.
