That is what it sounds like to me. From the outside of the car I can hear it vibrating, but while on the inside of the cab that is what it sounds like is vibrating/making noise. Could be the box itself

Weird. I added some hushmat back there on mine and don't hear it in the interior, maybe I'm missing it. I can hear it outside the cab, will add more later.

Have you checked the vents? They aren't mounted very well. Learned the hard way and actually pushed it out from the cab. Had to put rubber around the inside to keep tension on the ears cause they get stretched out easily.

Confirmed today that there is no bass roll off from the OEM head unit.

I have the harness I used to test this up for grabs if someone doesn't want to do it yourself

Also. The LOC is the source of the pop noise that occurs when the power shuts off.

I plan to attack this some more this weekend so part of that I will check the vents. I am going to add some more polyfill and some bracing on the inside of the box to see if box is flexing at all, I don't think that is the case though.

Also I thought maybe I was having issues with the sub magnet being only 3/16" from the back of the box, but got confirmation from Rockford that they like to see at least an inch of space, but will work if the magnet is right next to the back.

My vents rattle on my 16. I have my box bolted to the crossbar across the rear wall with a lot of sound deadening. Still have some rattles.

I noticed how poorly mounted they are. no rubber grommet between the hole and the plastic vent, only rubber on the outside. If you center the plastic piece in the hole and add a couple of drops of epoxy in the corners I think it might help to keep plastic from making contact with the metal

Thought about adding some silicone calc around them.

When I did my carpet on the back wall I overlapped some around the cut out for the vents. When I pulled them back into place they were much tighter in there.

that would probably be the best solution for vibration and a tighter fit. you should start a thread RVAVM (rear vent anti-vibration mod). JK, lol

As long as the sub can breathe its OK. However for best sound output you want the magnet away from the box wall.

We still need to tune your stereo with an O-Scope. I'm pretty sure I can make those mids/highs scream a bit louder.

I applied deadener right up to the vents and covered them completely in carpet. No rattles at all.
