I'm not sure really. Technically they still have safeties, just no manual safeties. Glocks for example have three safeties. Trigger safety, firing pin safety, and drop safety. You can throw a loaded one across the room and nothing will happen. A lot of people just don't want that added step to remember if something happens. Go to pull the trigger and "crap I forgot my safety".

I really want a P226 too. But I still can't justify that money. Even at cost!

You have the safety on when you carry?
They do, but why use it?
    You can borrow my s&w.

Like she said, there are other types of safety's, but why would you need it? Especially on ccw?

Personally for me it feels more secure with the thumb safety. Taking it off safe became muscle memory for me with all weapons as soon as the safety clears the holster (or I begin to rise the rifle). I don't see the thumb safety as any sort of hinderance. It's off before the gun is even pointed at the target.

Just one more thing to remember if you are in a situation that you need to get a shot off as quick as possible. Especially if you now lost all your fine motor skills cause you just had a weapon pulled on you.

Muscle memory is a good thing, but the safety is still just one more thing that could potentially get in the way.

Should I get drilled/slotted rotors when I do my brakes or is normal fine?

    ^This.

John if you like the dirt and Mudd as much as you like going fast on the street just get slotted NOT cross drilled. I have slotted Stop Tech rotors and they do great even with all my extra weight. The Mudd likes to fill up the cross drilled parts and makes stopping worse. I need to get some for the 4 runner soon too although I might get slotted and cross drilled on that since it's pretty much a street queen.

I went with Stop Tech as a trial. They were less expensive then EBC. They have performed awesomely. I am gonna stick with them. Don't get me wrong EBC builds a great product as well.

I have a full sized M&P and I love it. The trigger is the only thing I'm not crazy about on it. It's a little mushy but Apex makes a trigger kit that's supposed to be really good. Otherwise, it's been a great gun

In line with another thing you have to remember in a high stress situation, another reason safeties lost favor for carry pistols is what happens if it fails when it's engaged? Now you have a firearm that you can't fire until a gunsmith breaks out some tools. Granted likelihood of this actually happening on a well maintained pistol is just as remote as any other mechanical malfunction, but if the safety isn't there, it can't fail.

From a training standpoint, lack of a manual safety reinforces better trigger discipline. If you can't just set a manual safety and ignore the trigger, then you have to pay attention. Downside to this is the people that don't pay attention end up shooting themselves in the leg, or worse.
