Has anyone seen something like this on a relatively new tacoma? I only have 15,303 miles on my taco and this happened... i hear this loud humming, suddenly tire sensor comes on and no more than 2 seconds later my truck is violently shaking and i realize i have a flat. pulled over immediately and see my tire is completely flat. i had my 3 yr old daughter with me who was going out of her mind and her car seat is on the side where my tools are, so i decided to call toyota raod side assistance and they came to help, guy who did it saw this and immediatly was like wow...i'd call Toyota about this, they need to cover this. this is on the inside of the tire and not even really close to the tire tread where a rock could have hit it. he said he's seen this on a few newer toyota's recently too. Again, truck barely hit 15k miles this week and i only drive around the city, truck has hit dirt no more than 3 times and it wasn't even off roading, was simply driving along a trail to a camp site. Thought id share and see if anyone else has experienced this? freaked me out because i was going around 60 mph and truck just shook like crazy..and i had my daughter with me.

Tire warranty may well go through the tire company. You probably got that paperwork when you bought your truck. I'd dig that out and have a look at it ASAP.

Offhand I'd say a sidewall blowout like that with no other apparent cause ought to be covered, even if in a prorated manner.

Warranty should go through Toyota who then takes it up with Toyo. Tires are generally prorated past a certain mileage. But I don't know what that mileage would be for Toyota

I had a Badyear fail similarly on a 2500 truck a couple weeks ago. Truck only had like 2k miles, so replaced it no problem.

Contacted Toyota service dept. they said they can't help me unless i purchased a tire/wheel warranty, and to call toyo, they would advise me of a local dealer who can inspect the tire and determine if it's warrantied. i then called Toyo who said, oh yeah we make a couple OEM tires for new toyota's, but you have to go have it inspected at the dealer and they need to call us while you're there. She opened a case and said to call back when im there because if it's warrantied it will be done by their parts dept. This should be an interesting process...:crapstorm:

It's on the truck. Truck has 3/36 warranty. Therfore, it's covered. That's like saying you didn't purchase a light wanrranty and you have to call Valeo if a bulb goes out.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Why do the tires look worn on the sidewall?

    Or is that just me?

Do the KO2's have a bad reputation? I had the original Ko's and they were hands down the best tire I've ever had.

That happens when they go flat while you are driving as he described.
