Ask them if each one will drain the oil from their personal vehicle. You will then drive it around the block for the same distance you drove your truck w/o oil. See how many takers you get.

Never going to happen. They are under no obligation to give a lifetime warranty, ever. You might as well ask for a glovebox unicorn.

What a nice guy! I don't know if I would be so polite. I would probably throw the keys and tell them it's yours!
Call me when new engine is installed otherwise don't bother me! Oh... and by the way, WHERE IS my rental/loaner!?
    I wish you good luck!:hattip:

OP did you not read my post from several pages back? You asked for sound advice and it was given to you by me and several on this thread. Take a oil sample and send it to a lab. Don't let them touch the oil until you do. Go back and read what was posted and follow it if you want resolution.

So the op is gonna drive the truck between now and November 1..... and then bring it back to the dealer. Dealer will probably say they are not at fault as damage could have been done by the OP during those few weeks doing something else. It'll be your word against theirs at that point.

    You just got played

And when they do not believe you that the sample you had tested was unaltered and from your truck, have a new empty kit along with you at your appointment. Watch as they drain the oil from the truck, fill the sample bottle with the service manager as witness ,and seal it and send it in via their mail . The tests from the 2 tests should match and prove the results are from your truck.

Notice , all I said was to get unaltered results . I did not say it would be any proof of amount and severity of damage , just that it was the results from the ops truck with no doubts from either party . I already said that if it was me I would insist they give me the value of the truck pre screw up , towards a trade in . If it were me no matter what happens , I would no longer want the truck .

I think @Crosis would agree that the best plan of action here is to get a lifetime warranty.

You are both assuming that the stealership actually did the rotation, which we all know is about a 50% chance.

Hell I know for a fact my stealership doesnt rotate the tires. I have a very slow leak I cant track down on my left rear. They say they rotated the tires and surprise, the leak is still on the left rear. It hasnt changed the last 3 rotations.

Good dealer story. My wifes friend took her heep patriot this week for an oil change and tire rotation. She got a call and said they need to come to the dealership. Get to the dealership and the suv has been driven through a block wall. Haven't heard if the car was totaled but she just drove by in a new charger. My wife has seen a pic but I don't have the pic.
