Best diesel swap for a Tacoma 1st gen?

    So my motor wrist pin is is nocking need a motor!!...
    So if Im going to get a new motor why not just go stupid and get a diesel what I always wanted any good advise on this one?? Please thanks

    Cummins ISF 2.8. The 4BT is a dinosaur. Make sure you factor in all the other stuff you need to make this happen like custom fabbed bell housing adapters n shit

    Isn't the 4bt super heavy? It would be kinda cool but I think the dang thing weighs 2x what the 5VZ-FE does.

    4bts are awesome but I need something not so expensive I thought about going for an old Mercedes 300 or izuzu diesel

    This is about just like asking what body type you like in a girl friend or boy friend depending !!

    Everybody has their favorites then merging the wiring harness does sound exciting

    I did see The Cummins 4bt in a Tacoma but it was a few years ago.

    Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
    Diesel engines will almost always outweigh similar sized gas engines. They have to use stronger, heavier parts to hold up to the high compression and load put on the engine. The engine in my 7.3 Powerstroke weighs around 1500# with all the fluids in it.

    OP, unless you got money to spend, I wouldn't bother with a diesel swap because you'll be way in over your head financially with this project. There's a lot of variables people overlook.
