I have a roll n lock bed cover that comes with side aluminum rails/track. I wonder if i can mount through that and the body there would be more support. But my end goal is to mount a roof top tent. Just looking at the max load that might not work but it's a start in the right direction

Looking at doing this same set up and curious what size screws one would use to fasten the top tracks to just the plastic bed cap without running them into the box. I'd prefer this rather than drilling into the sheet metal or potentially utilizing an existing hole and some strapping or washers on the underside with a bolt to secure

Anyone try putting a roof top tent on the track rail solution?
