Thanks! It's funny how sometimes the simplest, most inexpensive little things can make such a noticeable impact! I am glad that I am down to these fun little mods now, because my wallet has been running on empty for awhile now and needs some time to refill! Lol. I still look forward to getting these little packages in the mail. Like a kid waiting to open there Christmas presents!

I've got 2200 miles on mine now. I've got the howl between 52 and 65, I am about ready to paint the flag on the hood so I can watch it fly in the wind it vibrates so bad, my radio reception is horrible, slight vibration when breaking and I can't get more then 16.4MPG even at 55 on flat land with cruise set over a 50 mile trip with 1 stop sign..... with that said, I still love the truck hopefully the transmission TSB fixes the mileage issue, I can live with the rest!!

no complaints here either-just wondering though, I'm just about at 1000 miles and I have a slight slight howl at 35-40 MPGs depending on how the wind is outside. is that how it was for you? will it get worse for me? right now I don't mind it at all and think it sounds kinda cool, but I can't believe toyota didn't catch this issue while demoing different verison's up to its release.

There's a TSB for plugging the holes in the lower control arms. That is probably what you are hearing . They can cause a howling noise. Or you can pick up some plastic plugs at lowes and fill them yourself for about $2.

Recommending people let them do the TSB so when shit goes south--Toyota can't blame the end user.

No, I noticed mine at around 200 miles between 57 and 62MPH. Get it upto around 60 and slowly let off the throttle and slowly get back into it at 55 and let off again. You will notice it every time if you have it. There is another issue with the front control arm holes needing plugged at a lower speed, I haven't had that issue but I think it was around 40MPH or less there's a TSB for it to plug Lower Control Arm holes.

I've heard plugging up the holes in the lower control arms is good for a 2 to 3 HP gain by reducing the drag.

    It's true.
I have the plugs sitting in my glove box right now.
Only time I heard that noise on mine was when I was driving on the beach and there was a 25-30mph wind coming from the side.
Sounds very similar to blowing over an empty beer...I mean soda, bottle.

I have the front airdam removed.. if that changes the aero any to cause this noise.
Strange the older trucks didn't do it, with the same basic shape and control arms.

Sorry, please allow myself to correct.... myself.
Attached is the more recent radio update chart with revised fix list. It came out last week. Same old TSB, but with minor revisions to the files.

How do we know if our radio needs to be updated?

Go to Setup/Settings, general, scroll to bottom and press Software Update.
Compare what you see to my picture. Any version in the "Current version" column means you're due for an update. If it matches any of the New Version listings (which it won't), you're up to date.

Ok, I am sure it will need updating. Does the dealership have to do this?
