Are you actually going to be getting 3" though is my question and that's why I don't necessarily agree with O906...OME or Bilstiens is going to be under 3" and there is no need to buy UCAs unless you cannot get a proper alignment. If you aren't going to be rock crawling and such and just doing occasional off-roading on trails or mudding, I also don't see anything wrong with spacers for a "mall-crawler," to be honest. Remember that much of the advice on here is geared towards the extreme rather than the conservative

I mean it is my daily but I have trails I ride all around my house but I ain't going spacer I've had one on a 1st gen and it destroyed my ball joints and everything else under there but I'm mainly wanting bigger tires so I can have a lil more clearance and I just haven't really priced lifts until now so I just been trying to see what ever one has to say about them but I mean for the money the Rc Lift don't look bad at all

If I was limited to $1k, I'd go with Bilstein 6112/5160's, then maybe an AAL down the road.

Well personally I will be getting OME 885s(140-165$), shocks on all 4 corners(350~) and will probably upgrade the leafs but that right there will break it up so that I don't have to spend so much at one time and make it more feasible and still allow for bigger tires

My advice was for the conservation side... if I was giving him extreme advice I'd tell him he needed a long travel kit and king coil overs.

If he does anything more than 2" of lift he needs new UCA's. My truck had a CHEAP 3" lift and an AAL in the back on it with the stock UCA when I got it. I replaced it with an old man emu 3" lift and after market control arms and the two were so far apart in terms of ride quality that not having aftermarket control arms to correct the front alignment shouldn't even be an option in my opinion.

@RMFTcalma95 Just save your money a little longer and get some UCA along with that lift and save yourself a little bit of a head ache in the long run,

    Just my two cents...

As I stated, if you cannot get a proper alignment UCAs are necessary, less than a minute of research will show you that every owner of such lifts has different experiences when it comes to alignment, and I would venture to claim the majority are able to achieve proper alignment without aftermarket UCAs. The lift I suggested is not a full 3", maybe that is where you are misconstruing what I am saying...which leads me to the question of what lift your truck has to get a true 3"

I'm doing it all with income tax so it's reall gonna depend on what I get back but I just know when I lift I'm getting tires also and I'm trying to stay under 2k for everything cuz I gotta do a lot around my house with the money but I knew I was gonna need ucas but just didn't realize the price on them lol like I said I hadn't really priced anything on my truck till now and there's so many options and different routes to take I was wanting everyone's opinion because I've never lifted the "right" way I've rigged stuff up on old woods toys and they worked great but it's not stuff I'm willing to do on my DD especially not when I'm making payments on it so I'm wanting to do it the right way so I won't be spending more on down the road in repairs just really trying to weigh my options right now

Look for group buys and don't be in a rush. Do it right the first time within your budget.

I agree with this, Black Friday and Christmas deals will be numerous and significant. The current deal from discount tires on their eBay site is probably going to have me purchasing the tires I want before I even have the lift lol. Trying to decide between the 265/75/17 Cooper ST Maxx for under 500 or the 275/70/17 AT3 or ATP for 520~

I hear ya, this shit gets expensive really quick. As much as it might suck to do it the "right way" you're going to have to spend more than 1k. It's just a fact, if you want to play you've got to pay.

If you go cheap with it you'll regret it and just end up spending more to try and correct the issue later down the road.

Here lift it cheap and enjoy it brother. This is probably the most value based lift possible. You can retain factory springs and get damn near 3" of lift with this option. The bolstering shocks set on top notch or right below. Or you can do the above shocks with these coils set them at the second or bottom notch depending on your preference of whether you want the full 3" od just get the clearance and get bigger tires. Then do an Add a leaf You will need an alignment afterwards and if you are wantin to go to a 33" tire you will need aftermarket wheels with minimum 4.5" backspace or do a set of spidertrax wheel spacers. So there is your lift for $450 minus labor and an alignment. You can do it budget friendly and do it right it all depends on your knowledge of your vehicle your tools and willingness to put in the work necessary. You do not have to spend all your money to get 3" you can spend $500-$2500 all depends on what you do with it. That lift will ride well and perform fine for the average off road Trails. Good luck buddy. Again spend what you want. Do your reasearch based on facts not on opinion.

See my comment below buddy. There is a lift setup for you. If you have questions call dan at wheelers. Very knowledgeable man and not a salesman. He owns wheelers off road and will help anyone and will ask what you plan on doing with it and help build your lift for you. Again base your knowledge on facts not opinions. I however would highly recommend the Icon suspension UCA's they are possibly the best tubular design on the market. And if you guys need any off road stuff let me know as one of my sponsors are an aftermarket parts supplier and most is 2 day drop shipping and they beat almost everyone's prices.

Call Scott or Mikey and tell them Derrick sent you and you may get an extra %10 off http://www.dwnshift.com/:oldglory:

It's on their eBay store, 100 off an order of 400 with free shipping. Combine it with the Cooper mail in rebate for 70$, but if course that doesn't apply to the ST Maxx darn them. It does apply to the AT3 and ATP.
You can use the code twice per username and still get the rebate so buy the two tire deal as long as it hits 400 or more and then buy the same deal again that's 200 off and you can still claim the manufacturers rebate for buying 4 new tires
