I did. Overall all length is not too different, but the stroke is better with the ICONs. It's hard to tell with the sleeve that covers the shaft on the OME shock. The shocks control the bodyroll quite a bit better so it's also possible to not run a swaybar in the front which helps flex too.

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
I have already been planning in ditching the rear full time and doing the quick disconnect setup for the front. The ARB comp coils are pretty stiff so body roll isn't much but my truck gets heavier and heavier by the day.

Rear actually stiffens the whole chasis up as proven by a guy who ran 14" stroke shocks and which forced the front to flex more

Ill be more than likely running a custom king setup in my future with the ome 4.5" comp coils

I'm pulling my rear. There is no way to do a decent disconnect back there unlike the front. I have actually been debating on just pulling both frankly. This truck won't see much road use and when it does I'll just take her easy. The 5" comp coils are pretty stiff to say the least but comfy enough on road. I'm a bit weary of running without a front on road just out of principal. I just wish there was a simple disconnect setup so I could have both options but crawling under before a trip to pull the rear is a PITA I won't be dealing with.

Woody (the guy that owns IH8MUD) is running the slinky stage 4 stuff and does not run a front sway bar but actually runs a heavier 30mm rear sway bar. So do the guys from Autocraft that design the Slinky Long Travel.
It doesn't have much effect on travel but make a big difference on the road through the fast dirt stuff. They all use trunions bearings that increase camber and with the rear sway bar and the increased camber the turn-in through corners is quick and precise. My truck still understeers a bit when pushing hard on corners but both of the trucks I drive with the stage 4 with 30mm sway bar. I plan to upgrade mine.
Kinda silly to be talking about setting up an 80 more like a sports car but it really was impressive how their trucks behaved with this setup.
    Just a thought.

That is weird info actually. When I did the rear coils I was looking at it thinking if I ran the front only I would be doing well enough... hmmm might be worth popping both off and just giving it a shot to see how she handles and adjust from there. I am not building for going fast and would like as much articulation as possible in the rough stuff. Never been a huge fan of the fast stuff. It is fun but not what I am trying to do.

There is negligible gains from removing the rear if you put the spacers on the back for the lift

Ultimately these rigs dont flex all that great, shocks go further than anything

yeah, totally depends on how you plan to use the truck. The Slinky stuff is targeting the "overland" offroader but still flexes the best out of anything that still uses the factory coil buckets and shock mounts. If you're planning on a more rockcrawler focus, sway bars wouldn't be something I'd be too worried about either. I remember years ago when people like Slee offroad first starting building 80 series cruisers, they did a bunch of testing to see how the sway bars limited flex. They found that the swaybars had little or no effect on the amount of flex they were getting. The front radius arms were the limiting factor before the swaybar became an issue. That may have changed more recently with some additional options for suspension. At the time the OME stuff was about the only real viable option.

Now, if you go a full-on 3-4link with coilovers then there is tons more potential for flex once the radius arms are eliminated and the shock/coil mounts change. But I get where you're headed Phil and I don't disagree with your approach.

If you're on MUD, you may have already seen my new 100 series but thought I would post it here. I sold my 80 series that I spent most of last year building, mostly because I wanted back in a 100. A fellow MUD member sent me a message about this one and it actually worked out. The original owner was a Expedition Portal member, Doron Strausman. He bought this one new and did 95% of the build. He sold it to a good friend that didn't drive it much. It's a 1999 model and when I bought it in May, it had 98,000 miles, it was used as a expedition rig so only averaged 4500 miles a year.

    Here's the specs
1999 100 Series, 98,000 miles when I bought it, came from Arizona so no rust, 2" OME suspension with Slee torsion bars, 4.88 gears ( amazing how much better the gas mileage is with the lower gear set ), rear e-locker, front ARB locker, ARB compressor, ARB front bull bar, White Knuckle Sliders, Warn HS 9.5 winch, Warn driving lights, Safari snorkel, TJM rear bumper with spare swing out, 43 gallon sub-tank, new 315/75R16 BFG KO2 tires, ARB frig, custom rear storage system, 15 gallon fresh water storage with pump and spigot, full roof rack, HEO awning, CB and Ham radio.

Here's a few pics from a recent trip to the mountains of western North Carolina and east Tennessee.

    Driveline in!

    New rear arms in...

Oils ready... a whole fuck tons of oil!

And most importantly some therapy with some great friends.
