Spring rate all depends on how much weight you have to front. I have 700# springs because of plate bumper, full skids, and heavy ass sliders. Winch soon also. I would have actually like 725# springs if they made them

I'm have 700s as well, for the same reason, ARB bumper, winch, marine battery, 3/16 skids. I think 800s are available but that would be too stiff for me.

Seen my brother in law had hos 16 tacoma lifted and now i want mine lifted too but keep reading bunch of negative stuff about lift. I want maybe 3" not more. I drive truck a lot on weekends (highway mostly) and never did offroad and maybe never will or at least not regularly so i want something that will have good ride quality. Probably will drop diferential since it seems easy enough. Seen trd pro kit but its $1500. Any recomendation? I read most of suspension faq thread already

 

1500 is more than enough for a quality lift kit. For 3" of lift it is reccomended to get aftermarket UCA's to obtain a better alignment (more caster).

Cheackout wheelers off-road, headstrong off-road, and down south Motorsports websites for deals on kits.

If it was my money, I would buy an OME setup and be done. I have a full OME lift kit on stock UCA's and it drives amazing on the highway.

 

Anyone around bucks co know a decent place to swap the springs on my coilovers and put on new strut mounts I got?

Yep, fully aware. It seems like for our trucks a 700# spring would match a fully armored truck with a steel-cabled winch. Now that's counter to what a lot of people say, but just go look at videos of built tacomas crawling and you'll see that most people don't use anywhere near all their wheel travel unless they're dogging it. Safer, but shouldn't be that way. With too stiff a spring if you sink a front wheel into a ditch the rest of the truck will go with it for example.

Hello, new member with a newly bought Tacoma from the Phily suburbs.

Don't need a mechanic right now, but if anyone knows of a good one in the philly area who has a lot of experience with Tacomas I'd be interested in the info in case I need one down the line.
