Horizon is good, but pricey. I used a guy when I got my wife's Lexus tinted and front windshield replaced that came to the tint place to do the install. He did a great job at a better price than what Horizon quoted me. I'll try to dig up his info.

It is, except Pine Flats is in the Manzanillos. Man, it would not be difficult at all to set up a bait truck there. Plenty of places to bury the bodies, too.

Horizon got me in today at 2pm. Quoted $250 for everything. Not even worth filing a claim. Having them fill a chip in the windshield while they have it. Been meaning to get to that. Money would have been better spent elsewhere but happy to have the situation work itself out so fast.

Good to hear. Was the window tinted? If they are replacing glass, tint and repairing a windshield that's a good price.

yup, the quote covered tint. The windshield repair was another $20. I surprised them with it when I showed up. They were all like "no problem!"

edit: when all was said and done, they threw in the windshield repair for free. It was a long afternoon but very happy to have a window and a solid sounding/feeling door again. They did a damn good job removing all the glass.

It's a tad nipply this morning! :pccoffee:

I've been driving the Miata to work, and it's on summer tires; I got all sideways this morning coming off the freeway ramp at speed. :burnrubber: I probably looked like an idiot, but it was fun. :anonymous:

That's awesome. It was a little chilly this morning, it is only gonna get colder too.

I would like to get out of the house with the kids and dog in the truck this weekend. We only have time for a day trip. Anywhere close to ABQ that has good off-roading areas that my stock 16 TRDOR can handle?

Cedro Peak area is one. The Manzanos have a bunch of Forest Service roads that are well-maintained, with some nice views. Some of the side trails can be a little challenging, if you're looking for that.

They probably got the rock slide all cleared off by now. I want to go up & check that out.

Thanks @pigger and @NMroamer. Didn't make it up this weekend, had stuff come up, one thing after another. I'll have to check those spots out soon.

A friend at work & I were just talking about dogs, after seeing a service dog in the hallway; I mentioned that we had dachshunds when I was growing up (full-sized, not the little yappy ones), and he commented that they are "low-rider Dobermans". :dancingbacon:

They can be rather toothy & chompy when they want to be. :notsure:

dachshund = badger hound. used for hunting badgers in their burrows. Send them in then yank them out by their tail.

Yup, then shoot the badger (if it's still alive) while the weiner dog has it in his jaws. My brother & I used to have to go out in the back yard & clean up the cat/bird/mouse remains, after one of the dogs had gotten to it. They're great dogs around people, though, when raised properly. I'd have one if I was home enough to give it the attention it needs.

Instead, I got little mini-dinosaurs. :turtleride:
