has a weird issue with shooting my AR Sunday. It fired off 3 rounds just fine, then it jammed with the feed. So i dropped the mag, cleared the jam and checked it all and then charged and shot one shot and it did it again. Since it was a new build i was a little frustrated but more curious as to why. So i experimented with my friends BCG and it did the same thing but after a full 10 round mag it stove piped on me. I have a T2 buffer in mine and mine is a mid length gas system. So i swapped buffers with the same friend who let me swap the BCG. Still randomly would jam. So i tried a different brand BCG from my brothers AR and everything worked flawless. The two BCGs my AR didnt like were BCM. The one it did like was a Spikes BCG and standard carbine buffer.

I also noticed, which i've found after googling that mid length's do not like PMC ammo. I was able to put about 5 mags through it with my brothers BCG and friends carbine buffer no issue. So i ordered a Spikes BCG and standard buffer. Hoping to go shoot this weekend and have no more hiccups. With non PMC ammo though.

My first thought was to question if all 3 bolt carriers were Auto or Semi, but a quick check of BCM & Spike's websites shows their branded stuff is all Auto. Hopefully the new BCG will sort the problem for you.

Their triggers are good to go.

    Colt made a piston rifle?
    I have a 6940 but it's DI.

I was going to get the regular Colt 6040 but found a great deal on the piston. I don't think they make it anymore, its not on their website. Its exactly like your 6940 colt mil-spec stock, colt rails and magpul sights IMG_3159.jpg IMG_3157.jpg

    Interesting.

I have a PWS 10.5" piston. Didn't know Colt made them.

I was just on the Colt website and it's not listed on the consumer side. Look on the Law Enforcement/military site and you will find one. It's really pricey, Retail is in the $1800 and up neighborhood (if you can find one).
