    Hello Nova Scotians
Just moved into the neighbourhood (Halifax). Picked a 2016 Tacoma. Came for a couple of years which hopefully include long trips.
Can you recommend on a descent, reliable, and reasonably priced dealer for winter tires and wheels?
(No TRD / Pro / fancy wheels needed or wanted)
    Thanks
    Tom

Hi there, welcome to Nova Scotia and to the forum!

Depending on the kind of driving you will do, Canadian Tire or Costco might be good choices, especially if you are looking to stick with stock size and on-road use (like most normal people). There may be cheaper options yet, but for my Corolla I pretty much just watch for sales at Canadian Tire. For my truck, I have gone deranged and convinced myself that I need larger tires, which means different rims... that makes it all more complicated!

Congratulations on the awesome new truck.

Myself I just went to a cheap place in Sackville (tire guy was the last one I used) and you can usually get a set of rims and tires for about 900-1000 tax in or less. They will last you years. Mine are going on winter #5 right now

Use the tire size calculator on here to know what size you want. You usually have to go 17" for winters

Hey, its your local I only post every three months.... hello everybody!!! so anyone by chance have 17inch offset 6 bolts they want to part with or trade for my 16 inch koenig countersteers. with Goodyear MTRS 315/75/16s I want to switch to 17s for when i buy new tires want to get bigger and 17s are easier for that. Willing to trade sets even if there are smaller tires on your 17s!

A good place to go for tires is The Tire Man in Upper Sackville. I got my winters (285 75 16 Cooper Discovery M+S) for a little over 300 dollars cheaper than CTC.

As for rims I would look around Kijiji for some 16 or 17's in a 6x5.5. preferably Toyota rims though, then there's no reason to worry about hub size.
