I bought the material but haven't had the time to mess with it just yet. We'll see what time I have this week but I hope to have it done before the weekend.

I hear you. I'm torn between this modification to the stock grille and the Pro grille. Of course this one only costs a few buck for the paint and changes the look somewhat. The Pro grille has a much different look and protrudes much further out of the bezel than the Stock grille does. Add in the cost and it makes it a very expensive mod that may not look great on the MGM Taco. I'm going to live with this for a wile and see what happens. It all comes down to personal preference and bang for the buck!

FYI, my Premium Audio shows an Audio System version 000099, so that seems to have been updated since the sheet posted. I bought it in mid September.

Plus there's a whole install and review thread right here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/puddle-light-install-and-review.452279/#post-13281813

<insert snarky suggestion that folks use the search function>

The one thing I don't like about the lights is they seem to still come one even if the dome light switch is turned off. I've not dug any further into it though to see if there's a reason or a fix for that. Very minor gripe of course.

I agree with you, I hate it! I want a key, that way all the locks can be keyed the same. I don't even want to think how much it will cost if one of the fobs break or get lost! I don't see the logic, we still have to have the fob with us to open or start it! I went to the website the part cost was not bad, I wonder how much the dealer would charge to install it. Maybe I'll call dealership and find out I want dealer install so it would be under warranty.

Just my opinion, but I doubt that Toyota will warranty any future issues if you do remove the button. You are not adding any genuine toyota accessories, which they will cover, but changing the actual design of the vehicle.

    Pretty stock for now
I wouldn't have thought someone would feel that way, honestly the only reason I paid the extra money for the TRD is just so I could have the keyless system.

I just got through doing a few things to my wife's new 2017 TRD Sport 4x4 crew. Nothing much just some cosmetic stuff. I don't like the way the tail pipe looks on the side. Even if you put a nice chrome cover it catches all the road crap and always looks nasty in my opinion. I just cut it back where it cannot be seen and just dumps exhaust down to the ground under the rear axel. I think it makes the passenger side look much cleaner. Installed the chrome lettering into the tailgate and also put some door sill covers on. May tint the font side windows to match the rear, leaving that up to the wife to decide. That will probably be it in the mod department for us.

I took about $3.4k hit on the trade in.. Which wasn't as bad as I thought. It sucks but at least I can actually enjoy the truck and actually use it how I want. When I bought my old truck I wasn't that much into off roading and stuff. But once I got my Tacoma I started off roading and using the truck out at the ranch. Well I kept getting stuck and it put me to the point where I didn't want to keep paying on a truck i couldn't really use. So I just bit the bullet and traded it in. I paid $38.3k for the new truck. And they threw in the extended warranty for free and took off that stupid 950$ delivery fee that CA has. So in the end I think I'm happy with were in at now. The new QS truck is a 2017 4x4 offroad with the audio/tech package

Huh? I have pushbutton start and all of my locks are keyed the same. What are you talking about here?
As for FOB replacement cost, I haven't specifically priced it out but from other vehicles it's about the same replacement cost as the other style key/fob if you lose it. Shouldn't break unless you do something dumb like jump in the pool or ocean with it in your pocket... which would kill either style.

You've not owned one before. I've had this on another vehicle for a few years and now on my Taco. The convenience factor is fantastic. I love being able to just have the fob in my pocket and not need to fish it out to unlock or lock the doors. Walk up to the truck, grab the door handle and it unlocks and opens. Get out of the truck and touch the ridged spot as I walk away and it's locked up.

Battery life should be years if my experience with funcar is any indicator. Quick & simple CR2032 battery change if you do need to change it.

With that said, I don't need to carry other keys with my on a regular basis, so I don't attach anything to my fob. I did use a label maker to put a google voice phone # on the back just in case I do lose it and someone finds it, they can leave a message or text there without being able to look up where I live.

I'm wondering where I'll be when the frickin battery in the fob goes dead and leaves me stranded.
