Been using Fram ultrasynthetic on my civic and just switched to the same with my Tacoma but I had no idea that people were so against them

Yeah, I want to revive this thread. Fram might not be the best but I've used them on every car I've ever owned. I use them on my '98 T-100 with the 3.4 liter engine, I have about 260,000 miles on it and it can go 5,000 miles on an oil change and I don't have to add any oil. I changed the valve cover gaskets at 221,000 miles and the top end was spotless. There was very little discoloration and absolutely NO scoring on any of the cam lobes.
I suppose we should all use Royal Purple motor oil too. I use Castrol GTX.
Again, yes there are better oil filters out there but I think the big thing is change your oil and filter regularly.
And, I keep vehicles for at least ten years so I've had a bit of experience with them.

With Toyota filters selling for less than $4 each, I see no reason to subject my truck to Fram trash. :crapstorm:

I agree on using Toyota filters. For the price they cannot be beat. I use them on my Toyota's. But I have done a lot of research on filters and there is nothing wrong with Fram's current line up. I would not use the orange can but their other filters are good to go. I am currently running a Fram Tough Guard on my Nissan and have no worries about it.

Perhaps but I just cant trust any filter from a company that would market the orange shit cans knowing they are harming peoples cars and dont give a rats ass.

Used a lot of fram air and oil filters over the years with NO problem. Starting using WiX about 20 years ago, and 250,000 miles later, again no problems.

That's where I am. I bought Wix oil filters for the first couple changes, because I didn't know the Toyota filters were so cheap on Ebay and Amazon.

I just buy the Toyota filters 10 at a time from Dahl Toyota on Ebay. I think I paid $45 for 10 filters and gaskets and free shipping. I've used Fram and never had a problem but started using the Toyota filters after tearing both apart to compare. There is a big difference when comparing the two side by side.
